Removing weps through Vertex Modifier

Ok for my map i need weaponless models of units...i alrdy got a weaponless peon, and i tried making a weaponless peasant...but everytime i even open him in the modifer his chest is not their...so i need someone to remove the weps of the peasant (and his gold bag, and wood logs), and if someone could, remove the weps from a high elf, since i cant seem to find him in my .mpq, and ill also need a felorc peon ?
