“Children of the Red Throne”

One decade has passed since the War of the Red Harvest, when Alastair Glastelle placed upon his head the rose-gold crown of his house and declared once more that the Kingdom of the Red Tree be one sovereign nation.

… a decade since Alexander Baraden of Falmir rode into the mountains with the armies of his empire at his back, to savagely campaign against House Glastelle as he did in the Days of Conquering.

Many say that Alastair Glastelle was a traitor and a madman, and that King Alexander did his people great justice in ending his life. Though many people are liars, including the Falmiran King himself, for it was not simply a matter of Alexander killing Alastair. It was a matter of ending House Glastelle. It was a matter of slaughtering an entire line. Baraden scoured all of the Rosenvald Mountains and the Red Vale, bringing castles down upon lords and their ladies and putting various farms and villages to the torch. Then finally, in the ancient castle of Glastellon, Baraden drove his sword through Alastair Glastelle, and then killed his five young children.

For ten years, Glastellon has been empty. Its terraces of red and gold and bronze flowers have been left unattended, to grow as nature intended. Marble halls, endless and forbidding, house shadows and ghosts of kings and queens long thought dead. The Red Throne, however, still remains…

Cloaked Lady: It looks the same. Nothing… nothing has changed.
Cloaked Man: Father always said that Glastellon could not be destroyed. The Golden King built this castle with magic, and only magic can destroy it. But look Cerise, the amber is gone.
Cerise: Baraden took it and had his goldsmiths work it into his crown. A trophy for his ‘red harvest’.
Cloaked Man: Have you heard from Sebastian?
Cerise: Sebastian is dead, Vermas. The Golden Prince is just a common rebel, doing as we are, seizing upon the weakness of Falmir.
Vermas: Don’t belittle me, Cerise. The Golden Prince is Sebastian, I know it. We need him. He is our cousin!
Cerise: We need no one but each other, Vermas. Brother and sister. Together, we will rebuild Gallas, and we will crush Falmir.

I know! They don't know that he's dead, not yet anyway. Perfect opportunity for them!

They should be, yes. Stay tuned for the answer on why they're alive! Dun dun dun!

In every rumor there is some truth. Don't be quick to judge our former good king. After all it was he who in his glorious mercy spared their lives and let them rule and then look how they repaid him. Nobles are truly arrogant power-hungry bunch aren't they.
