It is pretty good, altough for this part of it.
Use the burn tool and smugde it a bit for better effects.

dont use those tools, 99% people cant use them properly, even me or some of most professional artists and most pathetic artists i know or heard of.

Use the normal brush, you can gain more control on what you are trying to create, the armour looks good, looks abit flat though.

Trust me, once i stopped using smudge and burn it was alot easier and what i created didnt look like oil or a big blackish burnt blob.

And to all those or anything that thinks my comments are abit ..harsh or thinking im right, no.. im just saying my opinion and this is how i post i guess... (sometimes...)

    Control>time

You need to be patient if you want good results(that turn out how u actually want them to turn out), my skins take about 1-3hrs, hell i dont really notice it takes long though..and id rather spend 3 hrs making a skin how i wanted to make it rather than a 10min clump job.

What about using blur (convolve)? I use it sometimes to blend colors if there are some "toothy" edges.

i sneak blur and sharpen, but only when direly needed, if i need to blend i just blend the colors with a brush. But dont ask me... im no expert at all..
