I don't think this website intends to try and censor people. You're free to offer up your opinion (Like we see every other day in Site Discussion), but that doesn't mean we have to listen to you.

The only time we'll ever try to censor your opinion is if it goes into the realm of hatespeech/libel/breaks the rules, etc.

And no, really people come in and out all the time. The majority of people leave this site because they're moving on in life, actually. I've seen thousands of users come and go, I'd know. In fact I'll be doing the same in a few weeks time.

There was a kerfuffle about a permaban in the chatroom, which spawned from a complete misunderstanding. Then there was another kerfuffle about criticism. HindyHat got enraged in a similar way.

Chat moderation, on the other hand, does need some better guidelines.

BECAUSE NOBODY LISTENS TO US, THAT'S WHY. I do not understand why the staff does not get this.

The staff bans people for the same stuff they do. Is this fair? No. Does the staff care? No. So what do we do? We get angry. We start trolling, we start insulting, and then the staff acts like we're the worse people, and bans us.

Why the hell do you think everyone is so mad, and says the moderation sucks around here? Almost single staff member ignores those posts when they show up. The only one that listens is Void. Even if there's proof of power-abuse, or something similar, the staff STILL do not listen. I have PROVED that someone here was power-abusing, but did they listen? Nah. They're the staff. They do what they want.

(edit) Also, for the people that say they're moving on to real life...I think they could still visit this place, easily.

I was mainly referring to ban duration and followup. One of the main issues with bans at the moment is that some people who get them don't know what the hell they got it for. Logs are hardly ever shared (among the staff) as well.

Quite frankly you could leave and nobody would miss you either.

You don't want to crush the forumns to death with rules, because I've seen forums that just die out. because of the rules. Just the founder, a few mods, and one or two users here and there.

I have never seen a member banned for ONE offense of trolling or flaming. As far as I know, members are given like, what, 2 chances?
Moderators shouldn't be punished for "flaming" or "trolling". Most of the time they're just joking with there friends and no one even cares. Don't forget that THEY'RE the moderators, not you. They're moderators, they should be held to a different standard than normal members.

My two cents:

I read 5 pages and it went into arguments.. but there should be a difference between joe-newb double bumping and me, when ever I see it I tell them how to fix it so that they don't get in trouble. But somethings need a "slap on the hand" before an infraction. Sensible people who are trying to get their request done or their re-color-CnP skin approved are going to listen and learn, people that will do it again need an infraction. Something like pornography should be a straight infraction however.
