Gasoline and vanilla can come from cow dung? Yep, here it is

http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/science/03/03/japan.cow.dung.ap/index.html

Can you imagine a monkey that fights by having sex? Well, they are almost extinct, here is the headline:

And, best of all, something I know that Dan will find totally amazing and if any of the rest of you know anything at all about space, please read this article, it is perhaps very important:

im guessing you have all heard of europa. we have known about water on other celestial bodies for a while.

i know of 4 places in our solar system that could possibly support life. how many in the universe i wonder?
i dont like how un-specific the details of the cow dung thing is, but it is still intresting.

doing stuff like that is the sort of job i would like. pionering a new technology or something

Europa was acid dude, that was documented like over a year ago or so. What places are you thinking? Mars has a form of water, but no energy or organic material, so it cannot be the greek god of war. Pluto has ice but, again, no organic material or sources of heat. Venus would do nicely if not for the lack of organic material and the fact that all of its water is actually acid, like europa.

Enceladus is the name of the saturnine moon with water. I thought I had read or seen something on it but looking through the archives I do not see anything about the acid. It might have been an insomnia-induced delusion, I do get them from time to time.

lol, when i was about 15, i had to do alot of work at school and at home. most nights till 12pm with a 6 am rise. 6 hours sleep was not good for me and caused me to keep seeing black dots and moving things in the corners of my eyes. after this i kept putting things like cutlery in the fridge and attemping to use my ipod as a tv controller. obviously i realised instantly what i was doing (i wasnt pressing an ipod for hours at the tv), but for a split second my mind just dissipated. is that like insomnia? also did u/do u forget alot of things with it? i kept forgetting alot of stuff.

6 hours of sleep is the normal amount of sleep required for people over 20, like me. Back when I had it as a teenager I was getting maybe 6 hours every two or three weeks. To answer your question tho, yes, it is like that. There are many neuro chemicals in your brain that reform only during REM, so if you do not sleep the neurons "deterioate" (spelling?) and your synapses either make the "connections" slower or not at all.

I feel tired when I oversleep. Strange how the younger you are the more sleep you need, yet it seems as though young people want to stay up all of the time whilst old people sleep constantly.
