You don't really have to do something that takes time here, just want your opinion, I am creating a map that is kinda like the Troll Tribes maps, but a lot bigger and with more things, now i got a little question, who do you think would be the best as the big bad boss on the island in the middle of the map, Nefarian (the son of Deathwing) or Onyxia (the daughter of Deathwing). Please vote and/or make a comment about who it shall be and why, other creatures is welcome too, would be nice to know what people think is good

Neither

Firstly, because Blizzard sucks at keeping to concept art
Secondly, because as Black Dragons, Onyxia and Nefarian stay around places such as Dustwallow Marsh and the Badlands/Redridge/Burning Steppes area

Just make the enemy a giant jungle creature or something who goes on rampages. Onyxia and Nefarian make no sense

They're not the same. I think Nefarian is older

I'm actually working on a proper Onyxia based on a hybrid of the concept artwork of the black dragons and Deathwing. I'll follow it up with a Nefarian. Both of them will have proper black dragon crystals which are gained from being old, but these will be small, symbolising their youth. There will also be PROPER black dragon horns (Pointing backwards) and I'll just be lazy and use their WoW skins. And other such things taken from the concepts

However, I'll then make an average Blue dragon from parts of Azuregos. He certainly has the immense crystal part down. And perhaps I shall make the Earthwarder, the beast known as Xarus in elvish, the ancient, the feared, Neltharion, better known as Deathwing the Destroyer

Actually they are both the same age

After being corrupted by The Burning Legion and turning on the other dragon flights, Neltharian's scales melted off and revealed a scarred, disfigured image of his formerself. He renamed himself Deathwing and fled to hide within his new lair in Dun Algaz. Unable to reproduce on his own, the clever dragon manipulated the Dragonmaw Clan into thieving two of Alexstasza's eggs so that he may fertilize them and recreate his dead black dragon race.....

Thus, Nefarian and Onyxia were born

Thanks for the Dragon History thingy, nice to know such things, still. it's sad that everything on this site that involves Deathwing/Nefarian/Onyxia always turns into an Off-Topic Dragon History Chat, i posted this thread cause i wanted to know what was best as a boss, not how old Nefarian/Onyxia is or how Mecheon is going to make his own Nefarian/Onyxia, i don't mind if you talk about these things, but please do that somewhere else, stick to the topic :p

They were hatched from eggs. Neltharion was corrupted by the Old Gods. Neltharion HAD a mate you know, just like Alextrasza does. Well, she HAD four, but some of them died. One of their skulls is in the Ironforge Museum

Anywho, here's the thing: WHY the crap would Onyxia or Nefarian be on an island in the first place? The answer is: They wouldn't

Also, Nefarian's harder and they both use melee and ranged attacks

To put it simply, NEITHER would be good for a boss. Become more original

Look, using Onyxia or Nefarian in a map set around a jungle and on an island is like using a giant killer seal in the middle of a desert

They just don't BELONG there

And I'm saying you're unoriginal because you're just using two generic bosses from WoW and putting them in your map for no reason!

No one gives a crap about what things look like. What they care about are the gameplay and storylines. Obviously, you need a REASON for the thing to be there. Need a REASON for them to kill it. Hence, you should use, or make, something that has a REASON for being there

That was a good one, a troll tribes map with a story line, u know, the boss in the other troll tribes maps is just a mammoth, and if you don't think it should be in a forest, i can tell you that i've recouloured some tiles and made a dragoncave on an island, so it doesn't look out of place, and most people that play on wc3 have no idea about making maps and would be impressed if they saw onyxia/nefarian standing there, and these 2 look a lot more powerful and massive than other models that i know, they just add a good game-feeling, i am making this map for the fun, so to hell with the storyline :p

Those two models are HUGE.

Using both will raise your Map size by...5-6mb?

This map going to be multiplayer?

yep it gonna be multiplayer, but i'm not going to use both, that's why i made this topic, it has done it's job now though, just decided on Onyxia, and it's not really a problem using these models, many maps have music, and those are bigger than the models :p

"Everyone loves it" huh?

I can't say I love it. I see it as an expected map type. I'm still in the AoS era here. And some of my favourite AoSes have storylines. Those AoSes by the way are Keys of Sealing and Blades and Billets

Considering those two AoSes kick DotA's ass all over the place, wouldn't they be a good example for why you need a storyline?
