Wow dude i have an easyier way of for you to remove it, i could completely remove the pickaxe w/o needing to change the skins. Heres the programs that you can use to do these simple things:

1. http://www.oinkerwinkle.com/tools/ - Download the vertex modifier.

2. http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Tools&ID=3&sid=c87586dd556d28c010cdc0a1204f9f79 - This is a file conveter it can convert the .MDX file (the compressed version of the model) to the .MDL file (uncompressed and able to be edited)

3. http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Tools&ID=11&sid=0d29c66691546e05ccf54674f2186331 - The Warcraft 3 viewer you can also extract models.

If you would like a tutorial to go along with the mix of these programs then PM me and ill see what i can do.

Please note that skins are usually less in size than models, and creating new model just to throw out the pickaxe is wasting of space.

Yes, but if you wanted two peasants one with and one without the pickaxe it would be easyier to do it this way.

Edit: And also as he said he has never done anything for modeling/skinning so this could give him a chance to have a go. As it is i learnt alot from these 3 programs.
