I've tried to develop a system for one of my projects:
If a unit picks up an item (one of many weapons(Right-handed, Left-handed or 2H) the item in Slot 1 of the unit's inventory is dropped and replaced by the weapon.
If the unit is in a region and types in something while having one of these many weapons in his inventory, it is split in two (2H weapon split into two seperate weapons (Dual Swords become regular Swords)
If the unit is in that same region with two weapons (Regular Swords) and types in another phrase, these weapons are combined to create their 2H counterpart.
Weapons go into slots 1/3, Headgear in slot 2, armor in slot 4.
So far, everything i've tried has failed.
