Hey, im making a medieval RTS campaign and need a realistic swordsman. I thought of something like a medieval swordsman plated like a footman with a helm like this:

Especially footsoldiers did not use closed helms (like the one the wc3 footman has) so that they were able to have a better view, not be hard of hearing, though still be protected from attacks against the head. Also the top was curved to avoid that attacks from directly above would go through the helm (although a flat top looks nicer, its your decision to add it or not, both would be great.).

Ofc i would use this myself, but other ppl would surely use it too, since there are too few medieval units made.

Such an unnecessary request. I'm sure no one will care about the historical differences you mentioned, but if you care that much you can use the 'water lieutenant with no helmet' footman which is located in the models section. There's probably an attachment that is a similar version to your helmet on this site or wc3campaigns.net

Next time, use the guidelines featured in Xlightscreen's sticky for doing a request.

if its not important dont request it ! Wc3 has tons of units, like the bandit, that this could work with.

honestly ppl dont care that much about models, you can name a bandit : SWORDSMAN even though he carrys an axe, only the occasional smart-ass would give a shit.

Ok, and please read up on your history....

and post some work on ur map first then some modelers might help you...

(Medieval Swordsman had all kind of helmets..."Wc3 Footman/swordsman have got it right.)

Probably not with that kind of language.

Here is your helmet. Just merge it in vertex modify with an edited footman, or just attach to the person's head like an item.

If you have extra time, perhaps give him some chainmail and less armor aswell.

And Robot dude, you should read up you history aswell, only knights (and those arent basic soldiers) had closed helmets, simple swordsman (the things jombo is reffering to) carried most of the times that kind of helmets. (or no helmets at all.)

And jombo, getting a model made for you is extra, dont count on extra's

omg elenai, thanks its rly nice of you ;D!

To tell a little about my campaign, i plan it to be a bit like the old stronghold game and the 2th from firefly(if anybody knows them), the helms were wrong in that game though, heh.

More detailed, im going to make some maps like invasions, where the player builds a base on the map and have to survive invasions until a certain time and then win, the other type is siege where the player lay siege to an enemy castle.
Im using music from the game and the building system like in illidan and vg's Red alert project (if anyone can tell me how to do it, or maybe i'll find out myself :S). All units have custom models or skins (and there stats are done), dunno about the buildings though.
