Maze Maps - Traps you want to see :P

Well, I'm wondering if anybody would like to see some traps in an upcoming maze map I'm developing. I have ... Pritty much every type trap I've ever seen it in :p. So, I'm wondering if anyone here has some ideas on new traps! :).

Contributions are great, and if I include one your name will be added to the credits. :wink:. (Btw, it can be anything, I'm pritty good at making traps :p)

This is not a map development thread, therefor it does not belong in the map development forum which is for map/campaign development related threads, not for suggestions for a map which you haven't told about, that you can do in this forum. If you want to advertise your actual map you can make a thread about it in the map development forum.

When you suggest that someone read the rules, you should link to them. Many people are too lazy to go find them, or they tell themselves they will and forget.


Blackroot, in what way do you mean "Traps?"
It could mean a number of things, try to be a bit more specific.

Its not the moderators job to handguide people to the rules. If you do mistakes just out of lazyness, you deserve all thats coming for you (e.g. neg rep, yelling from the mod).

Yes please do tell more what kind of 'traps' you already have, and we might get a better understanding what you are looking for.

Trap like a whisp wheel or explosion. So far I've got pritty much everything I've ever seen in a maze game. Basicaly, I'm asking for new ideas for creative ways to kill players :p.

In the very first maze, Crazy Escape, way back when, my friend had a 'trap' that hasn't been used in any popular mazes today. It was, however, a very good concept. He had two log models, that swung down and smashed together, killing the player if he was in between them. It's difficult to trigger, and is a bit unnecessary, but it's kind of neat.

Mm, for not alot of motion that trigger would have alot of overhead. In effect it could look pritty cool. I might try that, thanks tonks :infl_thumbs_up:.

Now, any other ideas? :).

Well i used this one in my map... its pretty fun i think...

A blademaster spawns and begins bladestorming. He then chases after the nearest player. The players have abilities like temp magic damage reduction and move speed bonuses. The blademaster increases in movespeed perodicaly...

It gets fun when you trick a player into a corner and he gets owned :)

Also add doodads and destructibles that res periodicaly and are killed my the blademaster...

If they are too lazy to find them, they may leave in my opinion
