Thanks, by the way, to the people who have helped me in the past. I have another question, however:

Is there a point at which too many triggers will start to lag a map, and if so, what is that point? I am aware that some triggers will lag a map more than others, and that memory leaks will seriously screw a map. I'm talking about sheer number of triggers. Thanks again!

it depends on RAM and processor speed, but if you have enough sheer triggers to lag a computer, i have NO IDEA what you are doing... without leaks and 0.01 triggers, you shouldnt really have much lag at all

if you ARE getting lag, try adapting your 0.01 triggers ( bc you probably have some ) with between 0.03 and even 0.25 triggers, as 0.03 will still work well for sliding, and a .25 will work well for most other quickly repeating triggers ( though a 0.05 or 0.10, etc, will still work )

Thanks

Heh, thanks for the advice. I don't actually have any lag yet, but I'm planning a map with a lot of triggered abilities, and I just wanted some advice on what the limit was, and ways to avoid having lag in the first place.

As for my trigs, there won't be many .01 triggers, but lots of "unit begins/finishes/begins the effect of an ability" triggers, as well as lots associated with when a unit attacks, and many hero/unit abilities will be mostly or completely triggered. I was just wondering if that creates a lot of lag on most machines or not.

that actually depends on the type of abilities/spell art for the abilities. there's a map called Land of Legends II. in version 1.24 they added loads of spell animations that probably doubled the size of the map. the spells themselves however, don't lag, so if it's just fluff then you should be fine. there's a map called Advent of the Zenith that lags just a little because a good 3/4s of the abilities are almost completely trigger based and run. so it shouldn't lag too badly but Advent has only 14-20 heroes. lol i would go and count but that game takes too long to load just to count heroes.
