which programs do i need to make my own models?Something very simple.I want to make some simple weapons,ect..

gmax or milkshape is the only easy ones I know

I have Rhinoceros, its very powerfull, but i cant find converters to make rhino models to any other (or at least free converters)

Yea well I've tryed to use gmax but none of the exporters work :? I've tryed about 5 of them but no luck.

I wouldn't recommend milkshape for a simple reason: whilst googling, I found a website trying to warn people that milkshape could be dangerous. Now you all think i'm crazy, but, according to this person, the milkshape softwae is not bound by a EULA, meaning that it is free to do whatever it wants to your system when it is installed. Now, if it were truely malicious, it would go in and delete everything immediately or something like that, but it's te possibility that scares me. Now, there could be an EULA, I don't know, but I just thought I'd throw that out there. GMAX is a great program too, very simple, very powerful plus it's free!

there are several items in the tools section of www.wc3sear.ch that could help you, but people seem to be having problems with them, so you might too, for all of the tools developed for modeling for wc3, there has to be programs out there for exporting them

I can never get the model exporters to work. I go to all the trouble of exporting a model from another game and importing it into gmax and what does it do? Dosn't let me export it.

Yeah, there's no good free model exporters availale, I wonder what Blizzard used?

I don't know...but you wonder what any of te gys on wc3sear.ch use...there are loads and loads of models there...how did they export them?

heh thats me arguing with my swedish friend over MSN on the spelling of chocolate lol. And i bet they are all probably blizzard employess secretly hiding from us valuable tools and resources that we could be using. :shock:

Ah, I FOUND it. It's called Art Tools. It's a plugin/add-on for 3DS Max allowing myou to do everything WC3 in it. Comes with the working eporter. Downside is you need a three thousand dollar piece of software. Thankfully I have it already because I do a lot of Halo stuff with it.
