[RAINBOW]LIZARD SURVIVAL[/RAINBOW]

This is the idea of the map for those who have not heard of it so far.

A group of heroes are fighting each other using a wide variety of knockback skills. This is not all. The heroes are dueling in the middle of a herd of stampeding lizards. There are rounds that are set at the start of the game (using a dialog). The goal of each round is to be the last man standing.

System:

The system involves using stats to determine knockback. There are three stats, Weight, Strength, and Awesomeness.

Weight - The heavier the unit the less distance he is knock backed. Also the slower he moves.

Strength - A stronger hero knocks back other hero's farther.

Awesomeness - Each time that a hero kills someone +1 to awesomeness. Each time a hero dies -1 to awesomeness. Base awesomeness = 100 (awsomeness does not do anything)

Stats and skills can be adjusted by buying them in between rounds.

Heroes:

Builder - This hero's main goal is to construct defenses out of barricades and other objects. Has average stats, life and MS.

Runner - The runner is an extra fast hero who is an expert at evading and avoiding combat. Low Stats, life and amazing MS.

Sniper - The real ranged hero of the game the Sniper is a expert with his long gun. Knocks back at long ranges. Average Stats. Average life. Average MS. Low knock back.

Tank - The tank has high strength and weight. Because of this he is powerful and slow.

Ninja - The ninja sneaks in and out of sight throwing shurikens and using num-chucks. Average stats. Increased base awsomeness. (lol)

The attached map is a very, very, basic version just to show you the idea.

This post is for now, looking for ideas, a plot line, and later testing and bugs.

Another Idea that I had was to prevent boredom to dead players. When a player dies he would be resurrected in the body of a special "attack lizard" to help kill the heroes.

Thanks for reading, hawk900

Updates will arrive over time.

Not a bad idea in my opinion to make a fun warlock type game. Also props on adding awesomeness as a skill because what is a lizard arena but awesomeness in itself. I can't check out the map right now but I think I'll take a look later.
Good luck and have fun with it!

I have to agree with the thunder lizards.

I came up with the idea when one of my friends (PurplePoot) was playing an AOS map of some sort and one of the enemy heroes had stampede. He was playing "dodge the lizards" in effect.

Later I might make a "sheep running" version just for you Super-Sheep.

Thanks for the support and input.

Updates will be coming soon.

If you vote please say what you voted and why.

Please people. I need some one to test the round system with three players. Please so this with people that you trust.

It would be appreciated.

For example: Who voted "Please god close this thread now"?

Well, you've made a public poll, so just click one of the numbers in the poll to check who did it.

I can tell you anyway, i voted for "i would become addicted to it".

The one who voted "please god close this thread now" was UchihaSasuke.gr
Probably just some immature 12 year old DotA player that cannot accept anything else(or something like that) that made a bad joke.

Anyway, i just thought of garena, you could host it there, and i would gladly join.

Garena is a tool that makes hosting and joining games in Wc3 amongst others much easier. You may host a game there without the special host req(with ports and stuff) that you need on bnet.

I am using garena, and it's a great tool. Go to this site and download the "English version Download" that is on top. You may also read more specifically there.

Thanks.

Have given rep.

Back to the map:

Please People. Any suggestions, no matter how stupic they seem are welcome.

These suggestion could entail;
-Spells
-Items
-Game Play
-Models
-Story

Or any thing else that you could think of.

If you have a great idea for a model that is already made or even one that isn't it is likely that I can get it made through my modeller friends.

Thanks.

Ok, people.

terradont is now an official Lizard Survival Project member.

Note: After project = 70% compelete I am going to go for hosted project status.

Ideas/Changes:

Add a ring of units around the start location to prevent lizards charging in.
Re-do Terrain so that it is more square.

Add a "Ninja" hero who would be adept at sneaking.

Progress Updated.

Just one thing about the unit ring. Make the units invisible like pathing blockers, and it will look the best( i do think you thougth of that, but just in case) also non-mappers will be amazed by how the lizards has a collides with the wall.

Good idea, this will reduce the irritation of the lizards running in the shopping area.

The other testers was my IRL friends, which does not map-make nor does they have a hive workshop account, but they are pro DotA-gamers and they are also playing alot of other maps as well. I will PM their bnet and garena names, because i do not want to give it away to the public because of spammers since it is not my accounts.

Anyway, they did a good job and is interested in continued testing of the map.

Good idea, and even if they are just testers i will force them to create accounts on the hive. :xxd:
Then you can also add them to the team by normal means.

(i have planned on teaching one of them and his big brother the basics of map-making and triggering, and then go to some more advanced, but the other one is mainly interested in playing maps)

Hmm, the knockback is not the hard part for me right now.

For that I can use Silvenon's System.

What I am working on right now is making a collision system. If anyone knows how I am just starting JASS and the like and would appreciate the input/help.

Also I may yet ask Bobo_The_Kodo to make the spells for the map as then it is likely that they will be much better than I could make.

I know sort of gui collision system, but it aint perfect, because you can select dummy units...its best to do it in jass indeed.

Just another note:

Project has been delayed a while as the person I am getting to do the spells (Bobo_The_Kodo) is in Texas at the moment.

So, it will be a while before I can get any more work done. Also in part because of the present Mini-Game Contest.
