Lag problem! What cause more lag in a map?

My map is almost ready but is having a great problem, when I play with my friends to do the beta tests we note that the map is very lagging.
I must solve this great lag, then, I want to know what kind of things cause more lag in a map, Doodads, So Detailed Terrain...
Tell what I need to remove in the map to reduce the lag. :wink:

You cant just say triggers.. a map with 1 trigger could lag more than a map with 25. If your using alot of ingame triggers that repeat every few seconds you will have more lag, also, try using more map initilazation. Your map may load longer, but it might decrease the lag enough to notice it. Also, make sure that a lot of big triggers arent running at one time. Or, you could use a simple cinematic that sits in 1 place with text like: Waiting For Lag To Die Down Or Something like that.. Hope i helped

You think that is better some little triggers running at a time or a big trigger. For an example, I have a lot of triggers that runs every 1 second of game time, you think that is better only 1 trigger with much actions or many triggers with only 1 action? :roll:

there are many things that can cause lag in a map.

1. Memory leaks. this happens when a trigger runs and creates something but then it's just left in the memory, hence the leak. You can find many tutorials on this on the internet.

2. Number of units. if you have too many units on screen, the game will lag.

3. Too many triggers running at one time using the "Every () Seconds". there are many ways to avoid using this and try to avoid it at all costs.

-You can use Vexorians Map Optimizer to protect/optimize your map to reduce size/lag/etc.
