Item Ability Question

It is possible to set prerequisite for an item? I mean that you must have a certain upgrade researched or having a specific unit in order to use that item. I set the field techtree-check dependencies and techtree-requirements, but I can still use that item even though the requirements were not met.

You have two chances:

1. You can give the spellbook ability to the item, and give the requirements to the abilities you have inside the spellbook ability;

2. Replace an old item with a new item after the upgrade is researched.
