Is a TD still a good idea ?

Is doing a TD is still a good idea even if there are lots of them?

I thought about doing a TD, but i don't know if it's a good idea because there is a lot of them. Please help me choosing.

I would personally vote "no." TD is pretty much overdone. All the best possible TD's have been made and there really not much room to do better with new ones. Most now adays are copycats and "mee too" TD maps that really arent all that worthwhile. Besides, TD maps are the hardest things in the world to balance...
