//! import <file> allows you to import a file into the map however I don't see the advantage of using it. Why use it if you can import it directly to the map? Did you find this feature useful?
Well, the Import Editor can do the same work. I've not heard about that application of yours, but if it changes the path of files directly, it may be more useful, just check that out, if not so, then it's totally useless and not going to replace the Import Editor.
You mean vjass? Well you can use shared libs. Like if you made a campaign and want to use the same code across maps, it would be troublesome to keep it updated everywhere. Also externalizing the data gives you the possibility to edit it with other programs.
