Criticism tends to happen when you advertise your map as "the best". I can say just by staring at the minimap that it isn't the best. Furthermore, "5 Hours" isn't a stunning display. Some people work days, weeks, etc. To form a masterpiece of a map. I'll go on and say when people don't like your map, quitting isn't exactly the most courageous way out. Yes, their words were somewhat harsh, but no, that does not qualify throwing an immature tantrum. Someone doesn't like what you do, screw them and get better.

In the first place, you shouldn't call it the best LOAP ever when you say you spent 5 hours on it. I spent a year on my last map, and it's still far from noteworthy. From the comments, it looks as if Envy was knocking you down for bragging so much.
As some of the comments weren't the nicest things, whenever I get anything like that, I look at it as a sign that says: I simply need to improve.
Do that, spend more than 5 hours on it, then resubmit it. Get new feedback, good and bad. Then revise more. This is how you should take these comments, as bad as they are, they don't demand you calling the hive jerks on the account of two people. Ignore them and move on, don't piss on everyone else.
...Some moderator close this thread and recycle it, I hate the energy here.

I think you need to calm down. So does wuffle. The point of putting a map on the database isn't to get your ego stroked, it's to get criticism. If the criticism is bad, then roll with it, make your map better, and update it. If a mapmaker flames somebody for saying their map is bad, then they shouldn't put their work up at all. In fact, they shouldn't release it to battle.net. Not everybody will love your map and rate it 10/10.

And five hours isn't... nearly enough for a LoaP. If you edit an existing one, maybe, but editing other people's maps is lame. As donut pointed out, maps can take years to finish.

I'd personly wouldn't release a map until at least 70 % of the terrain and basic ideas (A.K.A the main features of the map) are in there. Plus like all the other people said 5 hours isn't allot...

Meowaz, I hate to break it to you, but people on the internets (yes, more than one internet) suck. Horribly. We are vicious, hateful, selfish, uncaring things. Anybody who isn't all of the previous is intruding in our territory, or only using the parts we let them borrow (because those parts are full of sunlight, which most of us can't stand). I'm sorry your first encounter with someone from the internet proper was in a community reputed for being helpful and conducive to modding WC3, and I would like you to know that wuffle most likely meant nothing personal. In fact, he's probably that kind of useless fuck towards everybody that gives him the slightest reason to be.

Unfortunately, we here in this thread (with the exception of Bob27 and Shados) can do absolutely nothing about wuffle's conduct. Repeating, do what MSBB told you to do, and the admins are highly unlikely to do nothing. Expect (at the least) loads of negative rep to head his way if this is true.

Wolver might be able to help. Hes one of the kindest HIVE persons I've seen, (then again he might just be a really nice bot ) Show him a pic of the PM, in a pm (pm him about it) and he will probably take the justified actions that will see to it that this "wuffle" is rude no longer.

But do not despair if your map isnt the highest quality. You can always improve. Heck my mdl models used to be horrid geomerges with all kinds of bugs and nearly blasphemous in its mockery of true mdl. But look what I can do now. (check my model gallery)

There is always hope. Even blizzard has to make patches. I hope this encouraged you.

Aug 31, 2007 - Steel_Cold A few world editor tips that I think might help you. Title your triggers, in order to do that you have to hold left click on the name then release after about 2 seconds. Also, i suggest you use a different tileset for that type of map, Lorderon Summer looks kinda bad tbh And, the doodads look a bit randomly placed and there are a bit too many of the same ones.
