Hunt for the Scythe

Darkness and quiet settles over the reaches of Duskwood. Events have been set in motion that cannot be undone.
Velinde Starsong, a night elf priestess from Ashenvale, has attempted to pass through Duskwood. She had just arrived in Booty Bay and was travelling north, hoping to reach Silverpine Forest. There, she intended to meet with Archmage Arugal to discuss the matter of worgen, as she had recently come into possession of the Scythe of Elune.
This Scythe enabled her to summon in hordes of Terrowulf, with which she did battle against the demons of Jaedenar.

Unfortunately, Velinde is dead.

She was ambushed in Duskwood by unknown forces, and slain. The Scythe of Elune lay in Roland's Doom briefly, before it was found by Jitters and the Defias Expedition. Jitters triggered the Scythe, summoning in the Nightbane worgen, who slaughtered all but him. He hid out in the Yorgen Farmstead, where Dark Riders arrived seeking the Scythe of Elune. They butchered Sven's family, and rode off into the night.

Now four factions search for the Scythe of Elune. Finding it would enable a dark army of worgen to be controlled. With such a legion, there would be little to oppose such a Scythe Bearer.

----

In Hunt for the Scythe, you may choose to play one of four custom factions.
Red - Defias Brotherhood
Blue - Archmage Arugal
Teal - Morganth of Ilgalar
Purple - Morbent Fel and the Dark Riders

Each faction has a unique techtree.
Gold is gained through bounty hunting; the killing of monsters. Players also receive gold over time. Thus, one must earn money through the repeated hunting of other players, raiding locations such as Darkshire or the Twilight Grove, and slaying Nightbane worgen.

The ultimate objective is to murder every last one of the units of other players. However, finding the Scythe of Elune in Roland's Doom will enable the player to summon armies of worgen to make the job a lot easier.

Through the use of commands such as -ally1, -unally1, -ally2 etc. players can forge alliances with other players. Keep in mind these will only be temporary. For in the end, there can only be one.

(Special thanks to Kerrah, Yuber8900, Handclaw, Nanicool and Sp00ky. This map took about a year to make. Every Friday me and the lads would meet up and test this and my other maps. Finally, it is time to relase it.

Congratulations, Timolas ;). It's a great map, and, finally, I'll be able to test with anyone in Bnet.

Thanks Lon. :)
Now to get it approved.

Lon here is the leader of Clan CDME, you can find us in Northrend as well.

Also, you may notice that several characters in Arugal's techtree, namely Laterbrus and Esca in particular, may be unfamiliar. They are taken from this great work of Warcraft fiction, written by Kerrah. The Rage. A story about Arugal and the Moonrage.

An absolutely fantastic map to play during the Halloween season, or just about any other time! I still go coming back to it every year or so.

There are some small problems, like how ALL the custom icons are missing DSBTNs (really annoying when you pause the game and everything turns into a bright green mess) or how the workers don't have build animations and their buildings are just doodads with no construction animations (but it really does make you feel like you're playing the "bad guy" in a War3 map) but all of that pails in comparison to the fun and creativity this map brings to the table. An absolute 10/10.
