How to change texttag alpha value?

i know...

call SetTextTagColor(tt,255,255,255,alpha)

however, it just doesnt work for me... i tried permanent / non-permanent and with and without visibility tag, but nothing worked

i hope someone has an answer

not even adding transparency color codes to the texttag itself worked

EDIT: i dont want to fade the texttag in and out by the way (but not via the native fade function)

EDIT2: nevermind, just had to make the texttag non-permanent by hand (though it was non-permanent from start)
