How do you use different attack animations?

First of all, let me introduce myself, hello people xD. I am kind of new to this site since, I don't really post at all, but lurk a lot.
Now to explain my issue a little further. What I tried to say is, for example X unit attacks Y unit. First attack uses animation one, second one uses the 2nd attack animation the model has, and so on.

Btw, my main language isn't English so I normally get lost in the editor fast. And I am not really experienced into making a map. I had some experience with the thing you guys call gui I think. But now I am trying to move to jass, it's a pain for me lol. Sooo all this text is basically asking you, if you can go easy on a rookie like me.

Edit: Is it even possible to do so? Just wondering. =x.. no reply so far D:

My bad, I should have explained myself a bit more before saying it like that. lol. Yes it switches attacks randomly but this model I am using has attacks with different kind of weapons. 1st one is a sword, and it uses most (not all) of the sword attacks it has. The 2nd one is a lance, which I seem to never ever see.

Sword attacks are named

Attack, attack -2 and so on till 5.
The lance attacks are named Attack Two and Attack Three.

He does not wield the sword and the lance at the same time. He more like draws each one independently. Which is why I am looking forward to force him to attack with the lance at a certain point, after I make a spell to make him "change the weapons". But the thing is, I wanted to know how to make him do X animation attack.

If you don't mind . Can you give me an example of how to force those trough triggers?

I think what you can find what you want in the editor.
Try under actions the part "animation".

For expample:
  • Animation - Play (Your unit)'s attack -1 animation
Then you have to work with conditions and events, such as "A unit starts the effect of an ability" and "ability being cast = xy".

Hey again! And thanks, gonna try that. Not sure how I am gonna bind it to be a normal attack after he switches the weapon, but thanks for the hint xD. I will find a way to work it out somehow. And if I really am so dense silly to still miss how, I will ask again lol.

Maybe give us a link of where you downloaded the model, then we know what model you are talking about?

Anyway I maybe want to test it myself :D
