How do i make my own unit?? please help me(i know im a n00b)

I just found this site and was wondering how there units are created. Do i need a certain program to do this? and is the program here. Or should i just give up on it cuz its extremely hard. Please post here and send me personal messages. Any and all help is apriciated!! Thanks!!

The custom made units where made with a modeling program. There isnt just one there are a lot of modeling programs.
Or, if you dont want to take the time to learn how to use a modeling program, and make a model, then just make skins. Which are just basicly what the outside of the units looks like.

modeling programs cost in the thousands and are extremely hard for a noob...

i suggest skinning first, and if u suck at that there no way u can do modeling.

not all modeling programs cost that much. GMax is free, and its not as hard as some otehrs that you have to buy(thats my opinion) But in order to get models you make in GMax you need dexscrip. and its very hard to fin(im still looking for it, if only someone would give me a link or something to where i can download it :roll: )
