in alot of games i see the icon for gold changed and has a different name... like on Land of Legends 2 (AoS), Lumber is replaced by "Souls" which you only have one to pick your charactor at the begining.
I am making a map, and im trying to make it more realistic than other maps, one thing in that little catagory of being more realistic, is changeing the Word "Gold" into "Wealth".
Some might complain to me, "but gold and wealth are the same thing arnt they?"
no.
in my game, instead of races you have a kingdom, I have many kinds of different kingdoms...
like 1 kingdom called "Svelengrad" located in the snowy mountains are a Viking/Barbarian people who instead of using "Gold" would use Wealth.
another kingdom called "Rolindoth" located within the grassy plains who are a more proper well civilized kingdom, could also use Wealth instead of "gold"
"Svelengrad" and "Rolindoth" are two kingdoms that could use "Gold", but "Gold" isnt very unversal. and here is a reason why...
Another kingdom called "Crimrok" located inside the unforgiving rugged wastelands, who are a very agressive and barbaric even canabalistic race of beast-men, wouldnt exactly use "gold"... "Wealth" however, does not describe the type of currency, therefore is universal.
could somebody tell me how to change the name?
