I'm trying to create dummy spells that are hidden within units, but I can't seem to do it correctly. If I take away the icon, it turns into an ugly green square. Also, if I change its button position to 0,0, it ends up automatically taking a free space regardless of the fact that I'm trying to place it somewhere out of sight.

Is this just an example of more hardcoded foibles that Blizzard is no longer trying to resolve? Or is there a way to make spells with no buttons? There has to be some way...I keep seeing Tower Defense games where towers are using spells as attacks, so they must be using some form of triggering with that. But if it's JASS, then I'm out of luck.

Sometimes I wish Blizzard kept a -few- guys on Warcraft III, keeping an ear out for these problems. There are so many things that need fixing.

the scary thing is they dont worship
they think its like C++ that you can do anything but its TOOOOO hard to use
I guess everyone thinks using Jass is harder then creating a Mario game
but that is wrong
Creating a Mario game (I mean real PC game not wc3 map) is harder than using Jass

I don't worship JASS at all, nor am I afraid of it. I simply don't have the time to learn it. Saying I'm out of luck doesn't mean I regard it as such an incredible thing. It can accomplish some good stuff, but my aim is to see what I can get done with the GUI editor.

Anyways, that's not a bad idea considering the spellbook is an item spell, and therefore can probably hide that sort of thing. I'll look into that.

Aside from that, if they use dummy casters for those spells, what kind of trigger would they use to have the dummy cast spells at the exact moment it attacks?

then i go and check it immediately :p

I've just checcked that: only the attribute bonus can be hidden with changing the 'hide button' to true but ti can be found in the 'data' section of the attribute bonus, and the other spells has no 'hide button' line in their 'data' section. :p

so you were right, I have to say sorry :)
