The contrast is too sharp, the dark shades and highlights are very saturated. i suppose that would actually look alright ingame - i dunno, and there's a black bit on the blade of the axe that doesnt seem to fit in my opinion. also, he doesnt seem particularly 'undead', but that might just be my lack of knowledge of warcraft stories and whatnot. I'm very much liking the range of colours though, many many skins are very monotonous and focus heavily on shades, this i find quite refreshing... not sure if that's the appropriate word to use... but i'm refreshed.

About the Mountain King skin:
I think the skin has some potential, but I agree with tee.dubs's critiques.
And the colour of the moustache doesn't match with the colour of the beard.

So here I do: you're damn talented in skinning, I guess, but I think you overuse higlights a little, which gives the voerall skin a look of which it's hard to tell what it really is! Try using less highlights for your skin and it should work out fine!

I can't help to largely disagree with you.
There's alot of possible icons in the game, and if you REALLY want a icon that much almost anybody can make a recolored icon. If ya can't, i'l be happy to do it for you.

I told you a lot about your skin today in chat, but I'll add a few words now.
It's an really really well done drawing, if you look at all the things you draw, you don't see the pencil u used, they are just well shaded and highlighted and the colours look nice!
THis is the skin!
Now to the wrap and here is the thing that I have to say: your well done job shows up as a mess ingame because it's too higlighted, what loos good on it's own messes the skin up in wc3, that's sad, but the only thing you can do is using less highlights or not that intense highlights, same with the colour!


@Fanny Shaver: please please, this is not a thread where you tell of your personal need of an icon, if you never ever used paint, u might be wrong here! ( i only assume because you don't seem to be able to create your own screenshot icons)
THis is a thread were you can comment on THE SKIN and the HARD work of people who worked for the COMMUNITY, not because they were forced, but because they like to help other people!
So please don't criticizse a missing icon, this ressource is not even approved yet, but give tipps on how to improve the skin itself!!!!

I have to say i respect that you have a idea for a rule that you think should be added, and fight for it, but you're doing it the wrong way.

A skin is a skin.
Not an icon.

A skin without icon has lots of uses. F.X. you mostly never see the icons of the enemie's units in a map. You can play three melee maps as humans against orcs without seeing a single orc unit or building icon.

That's a rather shallow look into the properties of a skin's quality and purposes. Surely if a skin doesn't have an icon it's technical quality isn't affected. The skin could be used in thousands of different creative ways in-game, creeps or statues or anything. Also as previously stated, there are other suitable icons readily available throughout the universe, just be willing to use your imagination like so many other map makers do.

Just put more thought into things and you'll find the simpler things in life MUCH more fulfilling. I could crap on about the problems surrounding the issues raised by this skin and you're views on it for pages and pages, but that's a waste for everyone's time.

Even with your massive wall of text, my question was never answered.
If you choose this skin as a hero unit, the lack of icon doesn't make it unusable. Just as a heaping bowl of delicious, buttery, moist mashed potatoes isn't useless just because you have no fork. It just means you'll get your hands messy.

amraphos u should remove the edges. Then it will even look more pro. thats my tip bud. sry for telling u it was cnp. I thought so because of the edge. But u should try fix those ones with the smudge tool. So it looks more professional. Overall ur a great skinner my rating 4/5. i loved ur demon hunter skin best demon hunter skin i ever seen IMBA FREAKY AWESOME! lol i use it in moy map do u still want credits i wonder why it got rejected.....

u still havent started on my skins i was asking about but ok. Btw u should save all ur old skins u made. I like them. U can just improve them little. DOnt need much improvmet from my side but mybe from the mods here. So then post it when they r super cool Hehe! i saw ur dreadlord before not the one whos up now that one need shading. BUt the last one + ur akama skins they where so fraky nice also the DH skin.

btw if u wana have some ideas for skins u should make lotr skins or mortal kombat skins

there are lots of lotr skins here if u wnt u can download it, (im not a fan of lotr, sowee)
also MK skins are easy 2 cr8 BUT its hard to find units to fit a skin :/
maybe u can ask a modeler 2 cr8 u a model of any MK character then i'll make the skin for it^^

By saying that a hard work on a skin is useless, you've made yourself pretty much.. useless..

well Ampharos_222, you should try to cover those lines/edges up a bit more if you haven't already. The skin is lookin' sweet.
