General:

Hero Defense AZ is a hero defense scenario modeled after some of our favorite maps. It brings together concepts we observed in maps like Naruto Castle Defense and Hero Defense VN. As we made Hero Defense AZ we focused on making a customizable, dynamic experience to fit the needs of as many players as possible. We implemented this through several user-defined and/or auto-adjusting settings to fit any number of players. We also aimed to create a set of heroes with many different play-styles, including mass-destruction, crowd-control, summon, support, and everything in between. With over 100 items to choose from you'll have tons of builds to try for each hero to find which one works best for you. Enjoy!

Author's Notes:

This map was created on Mac OS X (in the land of PPC) with Blizzard's Warcraft III World Editor. It was tested only on Mac OS X, but downloaders say it works everywhere now. This map is not fully protected, but it is optimized. You can download the latest version in its non-optimized form here. If you modify the map in any way and distribute it, please give us credit, and make sure players can clearly see that it was edited from the original and is not an official version.

We always appreciate feedback, suggestions, and criticism.

Guides:

We've put a little effort into few guides. The hero guide is the only that is even remotely presentable so far. If people show an interest we'll add/improve more guides.

Many of these screenshots were taken from old versions. Some were taken in a cinematic variation of the map. There's a lot more to see, so we will add more screenshots every once in a while. If you have a cool screenshot of Hero Defense AZ, send us a link!

Anyway, you might've figured out that this project pretty much died. Of course, if you really want the REAL latest version (not optimized, not protected) click here. Development was cut short when we were partially done with the gold version, so we called this one Gold Prototype 1.

I have some questions,

How do "Chaos secret shop" spawn? It doesn't always spawn, that's why im wondering.

How do you unlock "spirit of corruption", it seems kinda hard to fix. (EDIT: seems just like being time)

How do you unlock "Obsidian", i thought it was after a number of casts but it doesn't seem like it is.

If you don't want to spoil how, then just say that. Ill figure it out someday anyways ;D.

I think Blight fiends towers should have lower CD, and have lower upgrade time. Seems like the CD is almost 2-3 waves and the upgrade time the same.
And the towers wisp build could also have a little lower build time.

Just something that was annoying to me, others might feel different.

Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry, I haven't been on lately.

The Chaos Secret Shop spawns when a certain amount of Chaos Credits are accumulated by the team. They are *mostly* gained by completing events, like gathering herbs.

Yes, you're right about Spirit of Corruption. It is unlocked after it is held for a certain amount of time, but dropping it resets the timer.

I'm pretty sure Obsidian is based on the number of casts, but I can't remember for sure.

Next time I get around to editing the map hopefully I will remember to check back here for the Blight Fiend stuff. Again, sorry for the delay... and for not remembering most of the stuff you asked about.

EDIT: Since I'm already logged on... anyone who wants the non-optimized version can get it here. If you modify the map in any way and distribute it, please give us credit, and make sure players can clearly see that it was edited from the original and is not an official version.
