Probably post-alpha - pre-beta.

Well... It's basicly like Legendary Heroes, but I think it is better. It's a hero arena, and a very big map.

It has regular anywhere killing, like um.. you know. It has creeps and a duel place every 3 minutes everyone fights. A "playground" which is where all of your skills and mana are lowered down to 1. You do have your hp though, but it's lowered to 50.

I have a few questions about some of this... First, I was wondering how I should do the playground. I have a little section... It's in the picture. I have it that when they enter the section of raised land, they get a "playground ticket" which is what lowers the skills... But on the abilities, I don't know how I should make their skills go to zero... Also, on the duel place, also has a picture, I have a timer set, and I have it set where it goes and when it expires I kill all units in playable map and revive heros instantly in random section in region duel arena... it doesnt work though. ok.. well thats it for now.. leave some nice feedback please, thanks in advance.

Are you talking about lowering the hero attributes?
if it's that, you have to make triggers.
In the other hand you can create a special unit that when the heroes goes to the playground, the original hero moves instantly to a unreacheable place, and the special unit, (you create in the Unit Editor a lot of that special unit, and every unit must be the model of every hero of your project map) equal to the original hero moves to the playground, with lowered skills, mana and 50 life. Here is my suggestion.

Terraining, well you want alot of doodads and tile variation, but not too many doodads. lol. Best way is too look at peoples in terraining section for a referance and the ntry your own. with the dueling area id only make it -1 cliff tile, and incline the land around itand gets higher as it goes away from arena and make like a bleachers

Well make a region in the area where the stats shall go down and make a trigger:
  • Events
  • Unit - A unit enter "Name of your region"
  • Conditions
  • Triggering Unit has "The Ticket item" equal to True
  • Actions
  • Unit - Set Strength of triggering unit to 1
  • Unit - Set Agility of triggering unit to 1
  • Unit - Set Intelligence of triggering unit to 1
Now if you want something easier you could make another unit like the normal hero and make its stats all equal to 1. When the unit enters the region the normal hero will be transported to an unreachable area and an arena-hero unit will spawn in his place. When this unit exits the region it will disappear and make the hero appear out of the arena.

Also you could make the unit get the skills of the Hero and his level with triggers. Sorry, but right now I have not the time to show you how. Ask someone else. Maybe later. Anything else?
