Help....

I need help with something, I was changing the footman on my map and I have a problem, I edit it and erase the sword and shield, then I create an item and put it to him, the same thing with the shield, but the shield doesn't works....
I have downloaded many models of shields and all of them appears below the footman and I don't know what to do..... any ideas????

make the shield an attachment (left, hand i think)

This is what I have done and it doesn't works..... the shield appears below the footman....

maybe the footman got no left, hand attachment point or you removed when you removed the shield.

well.... that's strange, I don't know.... but the shield its on the right hand and its possible to eliminate the attachment position of a character????

well... if you know how to solve it please tell me.....
