Im stuck... I'm trying to import custom model's into my wc3 RoC map, but for some reason the pathing is different than the one described in the model section of this site. I know that the sites description of this is the TFT guide. How can I import custom models/skins into my map?? Please help!

If the file paths are wrong, download the .mdx/.mdl file converter in the tools section, covert the unit .mdx file into .mdl and check the file paths there. (hold crtl-f to bring up the search indow after opening the mdl file with wordpad and type in ``image`` or ``images`` to find the skin file paths. If you only have RoC installed, then you`ll have to use Winmpq to upload skins and models into your map.

Or open the model with wc3viewer 2.3c manually and prese control+M to remap the textures. It displays the paths of all the textures used

O.K. now i have wc3viewer but for some reason it does not convert MDX files into MPQ files.. Unless there is something I am missing.. Please help me! My map is near completion, all i need is new unit models.

Not into .mpq, into .mdl. .mdl files can be opened with Notepad to check the skin path.

Okay, I have found a program to convert mdx into mdl.. Now I am having trouble with the pathing with RoC.. Cant figure out how to "import" models into the worldedit program. Also, to add to the mess. I cannot find the "image" or "images" folder that I was told to look for. Nor the correct model paths when I open up the MDL file with wordpad. Would anyone be able to tell me at about which part of this MDL file I can find the pathing and such? Please help! This help is greatly appreciated. When I am done, I will post my map on this site for all the help given to me.

To put this in plain English, I need to find out where my MPQ files are being stored and how to get at them.

you need to get TFT because RoC doesn't have the import thing.

You can import into RoC. People do it all the time. Its just a whole lot easier with TFT, which is kind of why we suggest you get TFT if you want to heavily use imported files. Do people even play RoC that much anymore...?
