How about:

Event: A unit starts the effect of an ability
Conditions: -
Action: Play unit's (stand) animation

If you want some other animation, type which one in the Action. I don't know the string for not to play animation. You could also use Set Animation speed to 0.1% of unit's animation and with a wait 0.5 seconds, set animation back to 100% to get back the normal after he finishes casting.

How about, not using any trigger, hm?

Okey its very simple now:

1. Open your map
2. Open Object Editor
3. Click on "Abilities" tab
4. Selected ability which the Goblin will cast
5. Click on "Art - Animation Names" and change it to the animation which you want the Goblin to play.

If you don't want it to play any animation, delete all strings from the list in the "Animation Names"

Simple, isn't it ?
