I think you mean 2-1 (JS and me.)
And I got mine fixed, I hope there is an extension so my entry doesn't get disqualified for editing past the deadline..
Also, I think anyone could benefit from an extra week.

Only entrants count, it wouldn't be fair otherwise.

(As far as I know you weren't entering, since yours had a bug you couldn't find)

(Unless it has already been decided)

I have two major schools of thought on the extension of the contest. I would say no because I have a higher chance of success with less competition  and it was easily possible to complete a spell in a week for everyone else.

I say yes because it looks like the theme is "Make a new mana burn"

Overall I would like to say no because keeping within theme and time is the responsibility of the entrant. I had to drop out of the techtree contest because I didn't have time to fix my bugs

If it is decided to give an extension, I wont raise a stink about it. I will accept it and move on.

beware my spell fellow members!

Nether Conversion

With the use of the Nether, the Mage targets a unit, friend or foe, and converts the buffs the target carries into new, fresh buffs. The Nether Conversion can convert good buffs into bad ones, and vice versa and does not remove nor add any Aura Buffs.

Level 1 - Converts 1 Buff into 1 random Level 1 Buff
Level 2 - Converts 2 Buffs into 2 random Level 2 Buffs
Level 3 - Converts 3 Buffs into 3 random Level 3 Buffs

When I said this contest looks more like make a new mana burn, I meant that 2/4 (?) entrants made mana burning spells. My spell is Unshakling, which makes summons attack their master. They die upon the finishing of the spell, as it suits the background I made for the spell, but I think it should keep the summons around. I guess it depends on how you want to use it. The spell is easily modified.

If you are looking for my spell in this contest, you should look at the first couple of pages. I have a post with 2 edits and my map is attached. Can someone look at it and tell me what they think?

Submission

This is my submission till i see any bugs or if anything is wrong with it.

Depending on the amount of mana the hero has, will give an allied unit as many positive buffs proportional to the amount of mana the hero has, or a negative buff to an enemy proportional.

Level 1 - Every 300 mana will give a buff
Level 2 - Every 250 mana will give a buff
Level 3 - Every 200 mana will give a buff

Modo - Unshaking
  • Idea: 5 points
    Very original, and quite nice.
  • Triggering: 2 points
Any units would attack the target (that were owned by the same player), not just his summons. It also wasn't MUI, and leaked a bit.
  • In-Game Playability: 1 point
It would have been great, however the fact that it hit all their units, not just summons of the target, really degraded from it.
  • Visual Effects: 1 point
While it hid well the fact that they changed owner, it could've used a some visuals on the target/caster while channeling.
  • Theme: 2 points
The spell matches the theme well, in theory, but not so much in practice.
  • Total: 11 points
It would have been a lot better had it not done it to all their units.

Cuttle - Mana Leech
  • Idea: 5 points
    Very original.
  • Triggering: 5 points
Well coded, but it would be nice if you indented in the future ;).
  • In-Game Playability: 3 points
It was imbalanced, but if the stats were tweaked it would be fine, with no other modifications necessary.
  • Visual Effects: 1 point
Looks good, but sorry, I have to take a point off since you used a custom icon. (Against the rules)
  • Theme: 3 points
The spell matches the theme well.
  • Total: 17 points
Not really anything to complain about (except read the rules!).

AlexM - Penality
  • Idea: 5 points
    Very original.
  • Triggering: 3 points
Pretty well done, but leaks and is not MUI.
  • In-Game Playability: 3 points
It would be a very good support spell.
  • Visual Effects: 2 points
Looked nice, nothing to complain about.
  • Theme: 3 points
The spell matches the theme well.
  • Total: 16 points
Nice in general, but your triggerwork could use work.

donut3.5 - Soul Suck
  • Idea: 4 points
Fairly original, somewhat like a mass mana burn though.
  • Triggering: 5 points
Your JASS skills are definitely improving ;).
  • In-Game Playability: 3 points
It would be a very good offensive spell (damned casters!).
  • Visual Effects: 2 points
Looked nice, nothing to complain about.
  • Theme: 3 points
The spell matches the theme well.
  • Total: 17 points
Other than being a bit too much like Mana Burn, well done!

Admax - Magic Thirst Ray
  • Idea: 4 points
Original, but a little confusing (Keep the spell a little simpler!).
  • Triggering: 5 points
Well coded, but I suggest using Coordinates in the future.
  • In-Game Playability: 2 points
It would be fairly effective, if the caster worked out what it fully did.
  • Visual Effects: 2 points
Looked nice, nothing to complain about.
  • Theme: 3 points
The spell matches the theme well.
  • Total: 16 points
Well done, except for the confusion factor.

Razorbrain - Nether Conversion
  • Idea: 5 points
    Original, simple, and cool!
  • Triggering: 5 points
The triggering was a little crazy, but it wouldn't be too easy for it not to be.
  • In-Game Playability: 3 points
It would be very effective (Imagine losing your bloodlust to ensnare/slow/cripple :p).
  • Visual Effects: 2 points
Looked nice, nothing to complain about.
  • Theme: 3 points
The spell matches the theme well.
  • Total: 18 points
    Very nice.

Just_Spectating - Charmed Conversion
  • Idea: 5 points
    Original, simple, and nice.
  • Triggering: 5 points
The triggering was... long, but a shorter script would be much harder to make.
  • In-Game Playability: 2 points
It would be very effective, but a little confusing - some of the buffs (for example Howl of Terror) that were positive seemed to actually be negative.
  • Visual Effects: 2 points
Looked nice, nothing to complain about.
  • Theme: 3 points
The spell matches the theme well.
  • Total: 17 points
    Very nice.

Razorbrain wins! Congratulations to all contestants.

PS: The last 2 spells were my personal favorites ;)
