Well, this is just my collection of terraining that I have done. So rather than just opening up a bunch of new threads all the time I will probably update this.

They're all nice, but the eighth one could be a lot better. If you put in a matching sky and fog, and some grass variation as well as special features, it would be great. Personal favourites are 9th, 10th and the last four.

Yeah, that was the one I did for Lordaeron Fall tileset, but I had so many problems with it. I really liked it, but I could never get the sky to work, and sometimes it would not show all of the doodads. But maybe I will see what I can do. I'm glad you like them.

It's nice.

1) Do make the bridge at the lava scenes less black and more red since when you see that picture, you straight look at the bridge.
2) 13-15, looks rather empty, especially the grass mountain
3) Luv the tree

Yeah, I was just basically outlining the castle, which I think I'm basically done with, I think I have a pretty good idea of waht to do with the rest of it though... And yeah, I didn't do so much for environment

Well I think most of it is pretty good, sometimes there seems to be a lack of environmental doodads, but other than that it looks pretty inspired. Well done!

Some of these are beautiful, but some are just random shit placed together with pretty lights or a non-consistent dodad choice.

But... Who doesn't like pretty lights? Lol. Point taken. Gawsh. And these are not all necessarily in chronological order. The disco-ish thing is a little lame IMO. Lol.

It's not dead at all. There is quite a bit of vegetation, the perfect amount in fact. Any more would be spam.

It's clear that the terrain gets better and better as more shots are added. You're making great progress as a terrainer. You are working well with the potential you have. =) Keep it up, can't wait to see what you make some time from now.

Most of these terrains are good. But your main weakness is that you seem to make one area well terrained - the main focus of the image - and then the rest is pretty plain around it. Also, all of your terrains have the same camera angle! How about some angles from a little higher. Not asking for a birds eye view, but the horizon cameras are getting old.

I hate it when terrainers use photoshop or another program to enhance the look of their terrain image. Even for small effects like light on water. It's the easy way out in my opinion. 2-P is a terrainer who does it a lot, I believe. MadseN is able to make the effects in WarCraft III without ever needing photoshop. NEVER EDIT YOUR TERRAIN IMAGE TO LOOK COOL.

In this case, I am refering to your terrain with the light on the water.

Y'know... now that I look at it more, you may be right. And if it really is doodads and not a special art effect you added by editing the image, very awesome job for creativity and realism. Definitely a great idea!

Craka, it is fog doodads or glow, I forget, but they are squished and stacked. It was just a demo terrain I was doing, because I believe Belgarath had asked on a thread about how to do that, and that's what I came up with.
