fake HDR lighting

I was making a snow-map and I was thinking:'' damn, this would have looked great with HDR..'' I made it as HDR-like as I could, hope you like it (this is not made with photoshop)

Its so bright it looks like u just crawled out of a dark cave, but if u happened to crawl out of a dark cave it would be a really cool image . Don't worry though i still like it and think its cool.

Check out HDRShop, it would help a lot. But this does not look like a proper HDR image. Does it even have the proper highlight ranges for calculating IOR?
