first of all, i know im not supposed to talk about this, but i just have one question.

if i crack (open, hack, deprotect, however you'd like to state it) a map, just to look at the jass cuz i can't see the triggers, is it wrong? as long as i dont play it anywhere or submit/distribute unprotected map? pm me for the answer, cuz im sure this wil get closed very soon.

First of all you aren't supposed to talk about this in this forum... But, maps are created by users, and therefore it is up to them whether they want to protect the map or not. Blizzard's editor states that you should look at other maps to learn how to use it. That is the best way to learn. People only protect their maps so noobs don't open them up, change it slightly, and take credit for it. However, by protecting the map, you also prevent the possibility of anyone opening it. (You can crack it, but thats not a good idea.) If your purpose is solely for learning the trigger and to close it, then there really shouldn't be a problem, but might want to check with the author anyways. But if you open it, and copy or alter it in any way, you should definately get the permission of the original author or at least mention them in your credits. Best way if you like a map and you want to alter it is just to remake it. Just don't rip people's maps off.

P.S. Am I getting warned for this? I didnt really discuss about map protection. I just decided to state my opinion. Thx
