This is a powerful but simple text editor. But the best is that have add-ons that improve programing by adding colors in codes.

Moyack (I think) did a good one for Notepad++ which is fully vJass compatible (not sure if that one is).

With TESH? TESH is ugly, Need_O2, and this is also useful for computers which don't have wc3 on them.

First thing I did when I got JNGP 4a was delete TESH .

I've been using Notepad++ for things a long time. So it was natural for me to just get the add-on... Strangely enough, I only heard of EditPlus today, and this is the second time it has come up since...

Thanks, I changed the editor positions to make Notepad++ more visible, since he is free and have vJass syntax.

Not even to do with the syntax highlighting, necessarily (Even though I don't like it in general). The buttons and stuff it adds (ie, the fact that it redoes parts of the UI) turns me off it (So yes, I do realize thereof).

The buttons are there to serve a purpose, purposes not already in the editor, so no he's not redoing, he's adding, i see nowhere else to place them either.

Try notepad++ and you will understand. Most importantly the Ctrl+H feature of notepad++ is a lot better than the one of TESH.

I use Notepad++ for my jass needs too, and no, i don't understand. TESH is the best for internal code, Notepad++ is the best for external.

TESH's search function goesn't go around. If you wan't to replace everything in a file you have to press Ctrl+Home before doing so.
In notepad++ you can choose to replace all in the first window that appears when pressing Ctrl+H while in tesh you can select that only in the "Confirm replace" dialog which is annoying.
Also in notepad++ the word under the cursor or the text being selected when opening the replace dialog is the default text to be searched for while in tesh it is always blank.
Also in notepad++ you can spam Ctrl+S because it takes about 1000 times less time than in WE .

If you are referring to my point then you are 70% correct ^^ or perhaps even more, but anyways notepad++ is imo better than TESH even if not taking at their externality into consideration.

Well, there's a simple thing that makes me like TESH over Notepad++ too, it actually allows a very custom syntax. Notepad++ can't even syntax "//!"s.

They're used for all external/import calls, and if you have an efficient coding environment like SVN, it's used a lot.

True, with TESH, mindy and I can both work on the map on the same time, to test his scripts, all I have to do is to update to his version of script (two clicks) and then click the map launch button

Select some text in TESH and then click search
It doesn't automatically fill in the search with what you selected.

Notepad++ does. I don't care what you say, I use that SO much...

I ctrl+c then ctrl+v. Works well for me, and takes me around 1 second more than it doing it automaticly.
But i see what you mean, again, a cosmetic thing that's easily fixed if you just suggest it.
