Introduction:

Thorn Stormwild, once the leader of an elite sniper team, now living out the rest of his days in Deerwood,
putting his shooting skills to use as a hunter, when suddenly strange things start happening in Deerwood
one night and Thorn must come out of retirement to face this new threat.

Features:

-Lots of cinematics
-Lots of custom models/skins

*You are equipped with a bag that can extend your inventory
-Hunting system
*You can go hunting in special hunting areas to earn gold to buy better equipment.
*Normal enemies also give gold, but significantly less.

This Single player RPG is made only by me, johannesr, with the exception of models, skins and some custom spells
(Credits are under optional quests in the map). It took me about 3 years to make this, although i worked on it on and off.

@EternaL That's really weird :/ I didn't code the ability and it's in JASS so i have no idea why that would happen.

@wr3n ty

@Undead making them skippable is a very long and tedious process so i probably won't be doing it, unless there's an easy way that i don't know of

Great game!

I would give a 10/10 if it havent so many bugs and ways for you to got fucked and things like that...

Great game, cool story and mechanics!!!

Yeah, I forgot to metnion one more thing when I wrote, at the start of the game, if 3D Position Audio is turned on, there were some really heavy and weird echoes when a sound was played, not sure why, I've also experienced this with some other maps, so it might not be your issue. I turned it off, and when I turned it back on later, it was ok.

Yeah, it was disabled on purpose for that mission bc it created some bugs (no pun intended) in the mine. Actually i'll take another look if I can fix those bugs now.

EDIT: Yeah got it fixed now, also ammo drain bug is fixed! yay!
Btw i also changed Thorn's sound set bc him saying "Its hammer time!" made no sense. Is rifleman fine or maybe i should put mountain king?

I am back at the waterfall again, in the swamp. I killed the swamp dragon, got the venom, and i have the vial both in SAME inventory, but when i walk to or into the waterfall nothing happens at all - any idea why?

And yes I did collect all three of the shimmerweed too


Ok something weird happened. This mutant lizard thing had attacked me from this innaccessible area. So I decided to kill it because it was annoying me.

After I killed it and went to the waterfall, the poisoned treant quest worked! Strange...

Please give us the ability to slip cinematics.. since there are so many bugs in this game, we dont want to be forced to go through everything all over again lol

I'm now up to the quest which tells me to "scout the entrance of the mine". I go there and nothing happens!! Beazel Bludstone just sticks in the small city and doesn't move.

Can anyone help me as to what I should do? I assume the entrance of the mine is the crystal mine at home town, right?

*EDIT : I found out where to go now. It is some random place to the east of the teleportation stone which is right in the middle of the whole map. :p

Really like this map!

However when i save and continue the next day the bag doesn't work anymore. I had some items in there, but when i click it nothing happens. Seems your bag system doesnt work with save. Don't know if this is chance encounter or if other people experiences this.

For me, the bag worked after loading. It only didn't work, when my inventory was full. Somehow it always needed at least one free slot to open up.

After blowing the boulders up and bringing the artifact to the miners,"!" icon reappears and stays on them forever.

Gates doesnt respond to the elf hero.

Invisibility cape stays after the delivery of the crystals instead he wants it back in the cinematic.

Sometimes, green fog disappears in the swamp.

When escorting humans and researcher, they sometimes stuck but they keep following hunter if clicked on them.

After completing the poisoned treant's quest, the medicine stays in the inventory.

When you escort the researcher to the swamp teleport stone, if you turn back to the swamp, he follows thorn and turns back to the stone while in patrol mode between that area and repeating the same dialogue until click spammed to force to get him out of there.

Level 5 pet turns into a bear with stated skills.

You cant attack allies with the hunter but with your pet and minions you can.

After reckoning mine and clearing it quests, when i went back to mayor, he forwarded me to the researcher besides the teleporter stone. But nothing happens whether i go to him or teleport on him, so game stucked.

2. I thought i fixed that cloak thing for good -_-

4. Yeah they get stuck when they go out of your line of sight, clicking fixes it. I think i should increase their movespeed tho.
5. Why would you want to go back to the swamp? You're supposed to go the teleporter.
6. Why is bear a problem?
7. If you want to kill your friends, then that's your choice.
8. That's odd, he's supposed to be at town, near a workshop :/ This seems like another unexplainable bug, because i'm looking at a trigger which definately should teleport him to the town

Bear has keen sense and named dog on his timer so i was surprised and thought it may be a bug.

After the last bug, i tried to kill researcher hoping the bug fixed but the game ended instead :)

I transferred his ring and flute to thorn before getting teleported to the town, maybe it caused the bug. Also it took me some time to get him recognize the stone.


When i group select the elf and hunter, hide skill appears at thorn's.

I can't finish the miners quest with the artifact at the elf's inventory.

At nights, if i attack a creep in a sleeping group, others dont awaken until i attack them too.

At the miners artifact quest, at my first play, thorn placed the explosives and he stuck between them but he survived the explosion. At my second playthrough, He placed 3 explosives instead of 4 but he didnt stuck this time.

16 level thorn has a spare skill point that you cant spend since last level pet is unlocked at level 17.

I edited my post and added the poisoned treants issue but you were so fast to reply that you missed it i guess.

If one of the humans die when you are escorting them, murgul quest stucks.

Sometimes camera stays at the cinematics angle but it turns to normal when i roll up with the mouse.

Also while talking to the poisoned treant, a creature started to attack the elf. When cinematic finished, she was to die nearly.

After entering mutant hive with thorn which shalis defends, explosives were still with me.

After find a way out the swamp quest finished, irrelevantly last sentence is "-shal " appearing on quest completed screen.

Before the cinematic with the human captain starts, thorn appears in dying animation and sound.

When escorting the researcher to the swamp teleporter, i attack clicked on the swamp and while passing through human encampment, a cinematic triggered about the dimensional device while my units following their path and started to fight some creeps.

After rescuing shalis, i realized that her sentry armor and attack bonuses dont work and she cant leave the cave with thorn to the merchant. Instead, thorn leaves and inside the cave where shalis stand becomes as bright as a sunny day.



I dont care bugs if it doesnt cause the game stuck,crush or ruin the fun but your map is so good that i wanted to show my appreciation by reporting some.

Thanks for reporting them, i'll try to get them fixed when i have time.

EDIT:
@akqpars Okay so group selecting them both and hide appearing there is a wc3 thing i think, i don't see how i could change that.
2. I know the creeps at night thing is weird, but i had to reduce their aggro range because the swamp is such a tight area and they were getting aggroed from behind tree walls n stuff.
3. Miners quest: I guess you were just in a bad spot when the cinematic triggered.
4. Those explosives should be removed, i just tested it ingame and they were removed. No idea why they weren't for you :/
5. Captain cinematic: Yeah it was supposed to look like he passed out :p
6. Sentry training should work, yet again it seems to be a weird bug.

I have fixed the rest in version 1.8

because the Cloak is still glitched,

was from the v1
i don't know if its true
but theres something that really tells me this map
is from v1. TELL me if its not :D

BUG 1: Cloak in Backpack

The Cloak of invisibility still remains on
thorn but this time its on his
when the cloak is in his backpack it Wasnt removed.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:[Ived Put Something on the Glitches
and this Bug must Be Done Before Performing the Glitch
(LoL,i Love The Cloak.]
Please Don't Take The Cloak in your next Version)


BUG 2: 2 Exploers Saved Even he is only 1 o_O

During the Mission on the Swamps gave by the Explorer.
due to my experience when i saved the "man" in the cage
and clicked him repeatedly to the encampment of the explorer,
2 messages appearred,and when i checked the mission
i have saved 2 "men" Saved already even though i only
have rescued 1 anyways the "man" is NOT
very far from the north from the encampment.
When i Destroyed Another Cage,No Human Came out :(
but when i Destroted the last caged and sent him in the base,
the mission was completed :D


BUG 3: Path Blocker

When Shalis Died From the Mission Of The Northern Swamp Murlocs
i cannot Enter the Entrance from where we came.
there is something Blocking my path,i don't know if
ita a region you made,but i prefer you remove it


BUG 4: Swamp Fog

After I got to the Exit in the Swamps,the fog was Removed
and i think "yay no fog let my try to go back to the swamps"
so i did go back to the swamps wishing no fog remains,
so i got back to the Exit WITH THE FOG until I reached
The Human Encampment Nearby.


BUG 5: Almighty Shalis
When i used her 1st skill in the mines when Thorn was
outside the mine,she became invulnerable and now...
She's IMMORTAL! I like it But I don't Like To Cheat
Haha...When i Tried to use Her Skill again
She Remained Ivulnerable
haha the Second, When Thordin is near, she remained
Invulnerable.






GLITCH 1: Sell your Cloak
i found that the cloak was sell-able so i sold it
and got 50 gold :D
possibilities to remove this Glitch:
1.the trigger on the mission must have a condition that
the player must have the cloak in his inventory
to finnish the mission,if not then sorry.
2.make the Cloak un-drop-able
3.The Player Can Keep the Cloak
(Keep The CLoak Keep The CLoak Keep The CLoak Keep The CLoak Keep The CLoak :D)


GLITCH 2: Higher Bullet Levels on Backpack
When my gun was still at lvl 2 aka advanced rifle...
i found a level 3 bullet and tried to put it in my
backpack and quickley switched it to my normal inventory
and it wasnt removed
P.S
this bug was on my mind for too long since V 1.3
and tried it again and it worked


Fix


FIX: What! Bombs!.. later a mission for them
before the first fight between us and the monsters
i saw bombs in the town and picked them up,
suddenly after the mission, i was gave a task to
get the artifact and keep whatever other things
is in there.i think the bombs should only
appear after i accepted the quest.






Suggenstions:
1 You Should Add a Bonus Mission on the Extra Place Near the
Weird Cave During The "TEST" from the mage in the other dimension
The Bonus mission could be the other world fighting
Endless WAves of Monsters with Shalis.
Or Even Better Make A Part II of Your Map
which where The Ion Cannon Was Better
And Thorn Took it To the other World
And Tried To Cleanse The Land
"Yes i know the mages said "its too late..."
but i believe nothing is too late :D


2 Instead Buying a New Rifle i Suggest
you make it an upgrade, where i do not need
to sell and buy a new rifle.

2.1 The Cost Of the Rifles must be Reduced
if you used Suggestion 2

2.2 With that the lower level bullets
Still could be used, but if there are high
and low level bullets at my inventory
the lowest level bullet should be used


3 when I get near a Weird stone
and i have the Portal item with me
the weird stone must change into the name "(not exactly) Portal"
and when it changes to a "portal" the Runes must be lightened
as sign that it is active.

I really Like Your Map,I really played it for 4 hours without eating dinner Lol
I didn't Played a map Continiously like this Before,until now
Even in campaigns, i always played it 2 mssions per day
or maybe even 1 mission or even 1 hour per mission
I really liked your map,The Story is Great,
THIS IS THE TYPE OF MAP IVE'D BEEN SEARCHING FOR,
i hope you Make More Maps.I Can Say This is
THE BEST SINGLE PLAYER MAP!

Bug 1: I'll see what I can do about the cloak.

Bug 2: Thats really weird, no idea why that would happen o.0

Bug 3: The tunnel collapsed in the cinematic and you can't go back that way.

Bug 4: The fog is permanently in the swamp.

Bug 5: I guess that's a bug with the Shadow Run spell, it's coded in vJASS and the creator cba to fix it -_- Did you target a cliff with the spell or just normal ground when it happened?

Glitch 2: Wrong bullets drop from inventory faster now.

Fix: Damn wc3 is a really glitchy game :/ The explosives are supposed to be hidden at the start of the map, no idea why wc3 didn't hide them.

I'll do some testing and release v1.9 later. I'm not sure if i'll make any big changes if i ever get to 2.0. Also i probably won't join TC 14, making a good terrain takes lots of time and effort, which i don't have currently.
Anyway, thanks for the support :) I'm kinda disappointed that the map got only a 3/5 rating tho :(

I don't know what's going on, but when i click in "Start Game" it doens't work and just reload to the same screen.

(-)I can't get into the crystal mine, the gate is invulnerable and closed, shooting the switches made the quest massage "now the gate is open" but it was just a lie, had to close the game and never return.
Rate:

(+)The game mecanism seems like if you STOP-ATTACK the trigger of shooting will not be triggered, which is great since it means that the Hit make the Activation and not the ATTACK.
(+) The game has many guns which I never got to try since (-) the spawn of monsters stopped once the quest massage popped.
(-) The hunting area of dears worth 100$ a kill while racoons which run faster, look smaller and way harder to catch worth only 50$.
(-)And lately, the Imba Strong Boss that can kill you in 10 hits near the hidden tressure area (-?+ // intended?) was sleeping while I stole the tressure.
Rate? wtf no way dude, this map not worth score, it has many gliches and still not 100% prepered. the score is 2.99/5; I will come back in 1 month (hopefully I will not forget) meanning the 20/5/12 , and rescore this map, untill then, make the invulnerable gate openned able!. :ogre_rage:

Very fun and long short campaign! +rep and 5/5 rating! Although did find some minor bugs.

Minor Bugs:

When I get the cloak to go into the mine it said I already went there as soon as I got the invis. cloak. wtf?! :goblin_jawdrop:

When you have the optional quest to save the kidnapped explorers in the swamp, one got stuck with the sentry chick helping defend witht he murlocs and I couldn't complete the quest :cevil:

Edit: Found another minor bug.

The call pet ability for Hunter at level 3 is unable to target himself to use bloodlust.

Bug report

After obtaining the cloac of invis. i go hunting
after colecking some gold i sell my gun and a scroll of healing,to buy a new gun, and suddenly the merchant takes the cloak back
interesting enough. even after that if you talk to thordin the quests continue but the enter mines quest is never completed

-guard towers kill the deer when it comes in their sight
-the quest with the explosives starts working even though the player hasn't gotten it yet
-selecting the rifleman that wants gold in exchange for information about the three treasure locations might interfere with other cinematic scenes if done right before engaging in one
-there's a bug: after getting the cloak and just returning to the merchant instead of going to the mines, the cloak will be taken and the merchant will "take" the "crystals" too; that means the hero can't get into the mine
-more than 1 rifle at a time can be carried..

Too bad. 2/5.

The map is worth playing but I' m going to point out also the drawbacks which take fun out of the gameplay
pros
- good story
- interesting characters
- hunting system
- nice landscape and weather effects

cons
- poorly tested so lots of bugs are encountered
a) Explosives can be killed before getting the quest to collect them
b) Murloc settlement in the north-west and its quests are buggy (when Shalis was stolen I got control of her in the cage and had the defend timer while the main hero was out of control) Also I had problems with the blocked path. This part of game needs testing.
c)"Shadow run" is buggy - It takes Shalis to the center of the map. She can escape the cage (b)
Just change this skill for something working (it's unusable anyway)
d) After saving Shalis she's invulnerable
e) If you use teleport from the swamp to the city (Aiming at the Castle) you have swamp fog everywhere
f) 2 guns in inventory seems to be a bad idea
g) Getting teleport stone is almost impossible. Change the event (Let it work when the scientist enters the ambush location but not the main hero)
h) Bullet charges (Type 1) for the starting gun seems to be subtracted incorrectly

Tentative rating is 3/5 Hope you'll have time to improve this map. But for bugs I would put 5/5
