    Nice to clear up that misunderstanding. It's true that GUI suffices to the masses as it it easier to understand for people without programming knowledge. People with programming knowledge and who are programming hardcore can get confused when doing graphical coding as it isn't targeted nor made for them. That's why we have Jass. :p

    Making raw codes gives you a lot of advantages if the coding editor has enough critical features like find, replace, syntax highlighter, etc. If these features didn't exist I wouldn't dare to make a shift. Luckily these features are in JassNewGen.

    I do programming all the time. But Its been a while since i used jass and i havent used it as much a java or c, so ive been using gui.

    I have a question about the map. I know it isn't your top concern, but I am trying to make a mod for this, and every time I save the map, I get a lot of errors concerning JASS, therefor not allowing me to test the stuff.

    First, I tried deleting all of the things that were causing the errors to pop up. It worked, but I had to resort to the older camera you guys had because one of the errors causing it was the camera, which was made it JASS.

    So, I tried downloading jassnewgenpack5c and saving / opening the map from there to see if it would fix the problem. Nope, didn't help. (even though, the jass newgen pack is sweet, glad I found it even though it didn't help me at this point actually).

    I don't know if this is fixed yet or not in the next version, but it would be great. The mod is called Median XL (some of you may know of it if you've played Median XL Diablo2. All I did was expand the map for another area that you would go to after Tyrael, and create a couple of triggers for game modes such as, modifying the difficulty, making more orbs drop, adding a couple more lives, etc.

    And the bug still happens even when I try to save the normal 1.17 map. I don't know if it's the way you protect your map from being edited or not, but if it isn't it'd be great if y'all could fix it!

    hmmm.... as far as I'm aware theres absolutely no protection on the map :) It's been made to be 100% open-source :p I've never encountered any bugs when editting the map like that so im not really sure whats going on :S

    Which triggers were causing the problem just out of interest? :D

    Ive been making it using JassNewGen v 0.9.E.0, just in case your using an older version perhaps :)

    Well you have to use JassNewGen to make it work, or maybe WEU. Is it possible that all the changes you made in the regular WE broke it and youre trying to use the broken copy with JNGP?

    I'm moving things from my external HD to DVD & Deleting stuff, the clear space, to backup the stuff I want to keep on my laptop, before I format the whole damn thing. Tomorrow I'll probably start something similar with my Desktop, (which is the one where wc3 wont run.)

    This will take time. -_-

    I'm using a different JassNewGen, the one made by MindWorx, so it could be that I need to download the one you have.

    Like I said, to be sure it's NOT the changes that I made, I simply opened the 1.17 version, and saved it without making ANY changes, and it still gave me a whole bunch of errors.

    And the ones causing the errors CloudWolf, are all the JASS triggers. CamLock especially. The triggers that turn CamLock on and off, are one of the prime examples of what happens. Go to like, the Skeleton King intro, look at the trigger. It says something along the lines of "Set CamLock off" or something, then at the end it turns it on, whenever the Skeleton King cinematic is over.

    But yeah. It's most likely because I need to download the same version of JassNewGen you are using.

    I'm using the new version, and I have no issues. JNGP 1.5 My suggestion would be to check the menus at the top, if I recall correctly you can actually turn off vjass up there, and if its not on nothing that uses new stuff will save properly.

    How did you make this nice youtube video. Did you make it with the windows movie maker? Actually, it could be quite useful to present spells or to show game play as you guys did. Last night, I've been looking up for this on google aso. but I found nothin'.

    And one topic question:
    I am testing your map (but alone it's a bit difficult, I die a lot) and I wondered if you put mercenaries in your game or not. You know, like the real Diablo. My mercenary in Diablo was so helpful ^^

    I used a peice of software called Adobe Premier :p It works a bit like flash really, where you can drag/drop stuff onto a timeline, then add special effects to it :) However, it is not free software, but you can normally get a good discount if your a student :D Thats what I did lol :)

    As for mercenaries, I'll have to think about that. While they could be fun, I dont want to take the focus away from the main hero :) Plus I wouldnt want to give anyone an unfair advantage when using them in pvp :/ However, there will be quite a few NPC characters that will help you in some of the quests in later maps, you can be sure of that :)

    Ok. Sadly, I tried getting the same JassNewGen as you have, but it still fails.

    To be more helpful, here's a screenshot of what's happening in both JassNewGens when I try to save.

    And no, this is not happening just because I made another area, or added triggers, or created items. It still does it when I try to save the regular Diablo 1.17 map. I do have one thing to ask of you though, don't slow down the project just because of this. It'd be great if we could find out why it's doing this, but v1.18 is more important.

    EDIT: I saw this, maybe this is it?

    Yes, except for Grimoire's war3err/japi. If you need those too, then I'd suggest a dual install fo War3, one patched to 1.22 for bnet play and one patched to 1.21 for development.

    Do I need to do that? Are you using 1.21 in order to edit the map?

    Well I'm not. I started editing it in 1.21 but i edited it a couple times with the new version too. You might have vJass turned off. There is a toggle in a menu somewhere. Sorry I cant be more helpful but I dont have it installed on this PC.

    I reformatted my Lappy last night. the cd drive is tempermental so it took about 8 tries cause the windows install kept failing. I'm going to go install WC3 now and then I'm going to see what I can do about getting some work done on 1.18. Then I'll email my progress to CW.

    We've discussed it for quite some time now and if I remember correctly we didn't want to include him as a real hero. LTGH and CloudWolf are the ones taking care of all the "core mechanics"
