I'm trying to create a simple aura that provides a negative health regen effect while at the same time hoping to have multiple auras stack.

I don't consider myself a complete retard though this is something that is bugging me... hopefully it isn't something in plain sight.

I have tried many solutions like using the various disease cloud abilities but the problem with those is that they reapply (and stack) every second, the other problem with using disease cloud related solutions is that I can not specify a custom buff to apply to the unit (it just uses the default Disease Cloud buff which I do not want to edit).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for the replies, the thing is that I have briefly checked the fountains and healing wards, etc... and the problem is that I am not sure how to give a health degen effect (I had tried setting the regen to - #s) but like I said I had only taken a small, short look. Any other suggestions or possible methods to get the healing ward/fountain to accomplish this task?

The problem with degeneration auras such as those is that the player with the aura is not identified as the killer. You won't get gold bounty, and etc..

Thanks for the help guys, seriously. I tried the healing ward/fountain stuff again with negative numbers (thanks Poot!). However, they only start degenerating the unit after it has taken damage; typical healing aura behavior hard-coded to not take effect until the unit is NOT at full health. The other problem with this is that it does not display a buff on the affected unit or a skill on the host unit.

I have successfully got this to work (almost perfectly) with Unholy Aura (thanks moyack) but like stated above it does not stack. Anyone got any suggestions on how to stack it or a similar skill that can do the job and stack? Going to look around now and experiment some with trigs to see what I can do (not sure exactly though how I would make it stackable, or atleast simulate it being stackable, using trigs)...

Thanks for the tip Preskool, didn't know that one but thankfully in this situation bounty is not necessary, I will keep that in mind though as I may have had some ideas for future degeneration.

Thanks and +REP (again).

what happend to permanent immolation with a bigger AoE and cd of like .05?

Permanent immolation was my first try and it makes the units run around each time because it triggers "damage" rather than a "degeneration".

The stack of the modified Unholy Aura with a negate Health Regen Aura is the closest I have come but it has a few problems... it does not work properly as the Unholy Aura must have a degen to drop the units health below full and allow time for the Health Regen Aura to take effect, in other words if the unit's health regeneration rate is greater than that of the Unholy Aura then the negative Health Regen Aura will not activate. However, when the negative Health Regen Aura does become active it will throw up the health regeneration effect on the unit like such at a healing fountain.

Another problem with this is that it does not leave any room for "resistance".

I am thinking that this might have to be just a dummy aura w/ buff and from there go all JASS unless anyone else has any ideas... There is no proper fully-featured Degeneration Aura on this site from what I see so if I tend to embark down the path of dummy/JASS I may post it up when I am done.
