I usually keep my computer in stand-by, I don't close it completely. Nothing ever happened. Today when I powered it on, it just didn't initialize, like all the fans and everything seems to be running but nothing more. Nothing gets displayed on the monitor and I don't hear the harddisks working either.
I plugged it of, waited a little, plugged it in again but still the same result...it just powers on and nothing else, it doesn't do anything.
So please help me! Keep in mind I'm a noob at computer stuff, so for any solution that's more complicated I would need detailed explanations.
Oh, and I need this fixed in maximum 1 hour - 1 hour and 1/2 or else it will all be futile. Thank you

Arg, I just noticed this thread now...

How's your boot order set? Try to boot it from a CD or floppy if you are set to boot those devices before your HDD.

Your motherboard BIOS should allow you to see its setup options (usually by pressing delete immediately upon restart). If you cant even get to your BIOS there's a big problem.

If your power supply has deteriorated, it may not be sending enough juice to the system, that could certainly cause errors. It really sounds like your monitor is on the fritz though, do have a backup monitor?
