Ok, here it is. This is the product of many an otherwise useless study hall. I'm not trying to make the art the strong point in this, which should be apparent from my drawings. Here are the first 8 frames (4 per side of page), which will hopefully be enough to give something of an introduction. Feel free to criticize, but make sure not to turn this thread into a flame war like every other comic thread that has been made here.

Dude, thats a bit harsh, its the plot that matters most, what would happen if you had the best artist ever but knew nothing about making a good story? Exactly, we'd have nothing.

I actually found it was pretty good, could you post some more soon?:wsmile:

Comics still need some sort of a good presentation. It's not a bad story... but the images need to be reworked.

At the very worst, do something like Stunmutt or Cyanide and Happyness. Those are "cheap", but "stylised" looks, and don't require all that much talent.

Heck, you can even use paint to add simple colors in, no need for shading.

If you prefer that I draw nice pictures as apposed to make a funny comic, I can do that. My time is kinda limited at the moment, so I don't choose to spend it all drawing. If you had read the first post, you would have understood that art was not my focus here.

This will continue, my free time depending. And people, PLEASE don't come here looking for fine art. I'm trying to deliver a plot, not eye candy. And, TDB, how is your post useful? I'm looking for critique, not stupidity.

Few things you have to keep a eye on while making a comic:

) Good drawnings, not good are these.
) Story not to weird what happend here right.
) Dialog must be better, couldn't understand it after the first picture.
) Maybe jokes or something...

Can I referre a link to a comic of some sort? The details get better when it goes through the story.

Yup, that got scanned. I wished I could scan n upload (SnU) something of mine, a random drawning yes, so I could show my artqualities.. But I lost my cable for the scanner...

OMFG... if I hear ONE more person bitch about the drawings... If I wanted to draw nice pictures, I would. In fact, I don't really care about the art, because I'd like to prove that the art does not make the comic.

Whoever says the comic's story is nothing important compared to the art is a moron.

Comics need a decent artistic design. Notice here I'm not saying QUALITY, I'm saying DESIGN.

In a humorous comic, you may not need awesome drawings, but you need something that can work. I'll tell you one thing, ugly five-year old drawings with horribly squiggly lines and bad design DOESN'T WORK.
You need style. Sometimes it can just be a very simple round head with a square body and stick arms, but it's still better than this.

If you're not good at drawing, aim for a simple and cheap design.

As for serious comics... you need kickass art skills, or else your comic will be crap. Story is nothing in such a comic compared to awesome scenes.

Here's 4 more frames. Right now I'm just trying to keep it from stagnating while I get some free time to really do a lot of work on it (and hopefully take some more time on the art). Enjoy (or don't).

EDIT: sorry about the condition of the page, but my backpack got soaked today. Water damage ftl. Still no scanner.

Yes, in fact. The adventures in the Doodle Dimension will continue until they can escape (i.e. I find some serious drawing time).
