The idea of this Clan is for Map ideas and concepts...

To master what makes things fun...
This doesn't just mean warcraft/RTSs but FPSs, L targeting games, and every other game you can think about...

All in the name of Science....
The Science of Fun....

If you make a map thats cool... its whatever...
-Is it fun though? Maybe Maybe not....

We see what makes your game fun...
-We use those aspects to make the next game that we produce

Currently I've got a website on my sig...
But Its kinda a Peice of Shizzlnit...


But If you want to study the art of Fun... Search for a way to maximize it...
And look to give the maximum amount of fun to people that play your maps...

Then contact me...
I've got a few maps that I've got the COncept for and I've started on the abilities...
I've been a bit busy working on the triggers for a Mario Arena amoung other things but its still in the back of my head

If you believe in what I'm saying... I'm glad I'm not the only one that wants to understand fun and make fun projects... while having fun.... :)

Me and a freind of mine were actually planning on making the Forum alot more active by just posting certain theories and game ideas...

If you want to join in... feel free...

RIght now... I just posted to Balancing Observations...

The Forum is in my sig... I'm a part of the group....

I don't care if ur a noob.... its all about just understanding the different aspects of what makes a map and making the best games possible....

Or Just Reminissing on the Best Game ever...

Just a tip for you, the myth of fun is caused by a "search and collect" instinct of the humans, so if there are many possibilities and many ways to go to make your stuff equal to you, means you can identify youself with your character or hero, thats the way of Diablo 2 and it got very very popular, same for pokemon, dragon quest monsters, etc, or you could do a cool and odd story, like secret of evermore.

WHat about FPS's?

It is Search, Aim, Collect
-While making sure you do these three things before your opponent does... which factors in... line of sight... Weapon attack radius, Damages, Ranges

As for 2d fighters
Prepare first strike to make sure your opponent can't escape or pull a reversal, making the first attack good for attacks afterward
-While making sure you can defend yourself no matter what the situation is...
ANd if you don't defend yourself... causing a reversal so your enemy is at the bitter or equal and as you

Search for the Appropiate X, Y and velocity necessary, COllect through the appropiate attack... follow up....
-See when your opponent is searching for their X, Y and Velocities, Search for your own, Collect with appropiate attack, Follow up

THere is more to a game then just search and collect... Though searching and collecting tends to be a profitable one.... I think people enjoy more the aspects of Rock paper scissors (Pokemon), Seeing your labors become fruitful (Pokemon/Diablo/wow)... etc...

THere are many aspects of what makes a game fun.... To say one is and everything else isn't is being ignorant... To look at what is and make sure you can describe it perfectly is better....

I meant it different, i just gave an idea of one of the most used. What i would like to see is a Pokemon-like clone for wc3 with triggered spells for the units, but that would take a lot of work. Because you need to trigger many spells and set up a whole new skill learning system (like the one in pokemon) which would be possible!

True.. that would work...

The clans not just about warcraft though... its about programming in general... Games in general....

Warcraft and Starcraft is just the focus right now since there are a lot of potential...
