Buff on a Passive Ability

alright, so i have a passive ability that i want to show a buff in the status section of the unit interface. what do i need to do? i've tried and all i think i can come up with is buffs for abilities that are cast.

Use an aura with no area of effect and can only affect self.
Then change the aura buff to what you want.

Any other passive abilities can be hid via hidden spellbook trick.
