I feel like the lips/nose/eyes could be better defined here, they seem very rushed.

Put more effort into backgrounds to make them less random. Make the most of the space on left and imply face structure in more defined fashion. Putting focus on definition of key shapes is quite important when all you have to draw a portrait is 64x64...

    Make the most of the space on left and imply face structure in more defined fashion. Putting focus on definition of key shapes is quite important when all you have to draw a portrait is 64x64 pixel canvas. Reversing gradient may be good idea as well.

    Corresponding texture looks nice, gold-red color scheme worked out fine, I like how sharpness is balanced. You could however try some adjustments in favor of getting more contrast and shading.
