    well edit the skin!
    if it uses an ingame skin, export it, reskin it and edit the path to the skin in the .mdl file

    And another hint:
    U dont need the attachment point in the attached weapon!
    Just try to attach the non rotating knive to the weapon attach point of a unit and edit the mesh in Max so it is in the hand of the unit
