i make the color into white to make it easy to edit color on war3 model editor, but i didn't change the color cuz i made it to look like air effect.

agree, the name aura is just a name from me use it to make some aura on my courier\flying unit,
it might be able to become a unit if someone has the idea. it all depends on our imagination.

I was thinking of using more for a channelled spell. Say a fall version of KotG's tranquillity spell.

It works for classic but the size is a bit large, maybe a reduced poly version for classic would work?
