Art Of Life 2.9

This cinematic is 29 min long and 26.9 mt big file and cannot be watched in battle.net. Be patient when downloading this cinematic.

Art Of Life cinematic includes different kind of massive special effects. I also have put lyrics to this so you can example, use it like karaoke.

The whole cinematic is only one music. It is called Art Of Life. X-Japan released Art Of Life in 1993 so it is old, but it's one of my favorite composition. Well okay, it's my favorite.

The audio in the cinematic is high quality (I haven't changed the bitrate, that's the reason why this is 26.9 mt big).

To the music. Music tells about love, sadness and pain. If you want to learn more about the music go to http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=1794.

This game is highly recomended for fast computers. When you start to watch this remember to close all unnecessary programs.

Enjoy.

2.9
- Fixed memory leaks
- Added more cooler effects
- and much much more...

Honestly this map bored me to death, the special effects go in a loop they are all the same except you change model, camera is always the same, it is a huge map which means dial-upers need to wait atleast an hour or two(Don't know exactly I used dial-up a long time ago), it lags on a machin with low or medium configurations and it's not really worth to watch. You apperantly never saw a good cinematic, if you did you would know that your music video does not have the "BEST" special effects. The only thing good was the wisp circle thing, it reminded me on windows media player. Sorry for being so harsh but I hate whan someone boasts alot like you did in the description.

Well, mister CMarket (one comment guy), can you tell me did you like the music? Did you watch it to end?
You know, it is not nice to see that people harsh me so much about one game if I have worked for it so much, so many hours.
Yes I have seen many cinematic, and I still think this is the best, but everyone has own opinion.
I'm sorry if I'm too arrogant about this map. You want to know why I am? Because then I will have interest and then people watch my video and comment.
I thank you for your own opinion, but did you see any bugs or errors or maybe you have new ideas, tell me!

I have to agrre with CMarket on all of his points. Valtz_32 I must say that you really didn't see good cutscenes, I saw your comments and everywhere you say how act of life is best. I find 2 explanations for this: Either you are the same guy as Aeroblyctos which seems quite possible or you just never saw a good cutscene

I rated it:(1)Sucks!
It's awful
30 min of intense special effect spaming= over memory leak= Map froze.

I nearly fel asleep.Special effect, except the wisp wheel at the begining, are just spaming at random location.

And the map doesn't end by itself and because of "cinematic mode on" I had to atl+F4 and quit but as i said before the map froze and i had to reboot my computer.

+cinematic mode reduce music volume...use letterbox ffs.

I see you have a really slow computer, don't you? When I'm watching this video, it doesn't lag expect in end effects and after piano solo.
Cinematic reduce music volume? What a joke! You can always turn your speakers higher? :D
This video has end. I think you didn't watch to end.
Because of memory leaks, "random special effects" and "cinematic mode on" you gave me 1 point? Come on, negative guy, you should really think twice before before rating. But well you have your own opinion.

Blame is constructive in some case.

And i didn't blamed for blaming.I told him what is wrong with his map...I repeat again memory leak, random fx spam, cinematic mode. All these result in a soporific effect and pointlessness of listening 30 min the same music.

And rating 1 is my right.I don't think a map that make me reboot my computer deserve more.If you don't agree just modify the rating system so that people can't rate under 5.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG DL. You really should get rid of some of the more useless triggers. "Have you ever seen better warcraft 3 video..." Well, yes.

I wasn't unhappy, tired of gaming, upset or anything like that, I just wanted to see this cinematic.
This is a GREAT cinematic (Rated 9)
(a few reasons:)

-The special effects mixed with music were fabulous.
-This is nothing like any other warcraft-map, congratulations with your originality, it paid off
-for depressive, unhappy, angry, ... people this could really help
-DL-time was about 1 minute for me, so that wasn't really a problem.

I rated (6)Great.
Why so bad? Well, first I think it'S no bad rating. Anyhow, I'll tell you why i rated so and not higher, why not 7? Why not very good? Well, as you may have thought, I don't think it's _very_ good.
First, the lags. I have a new PC and I can even run a huge battle in CnC3 on high graphics, but neverless it lagged sometimes. Especially at the bugging Obelisks, the blizzard in the solo and the fucking huge fire explosion at the end of the solo.
Next point: The effects.
I think they're too much. And some sucked or we're damn boring. I didn't like the bugging obelisks and the damn long piano solo, where everything was equal and too long and it even was a just like an effect before. The few we see of an terrain is Ok, but not good. There are much to less details, and they wouldn't lagg as much as these effects. Especially I didn't like the seashells, crabs and corals at the ending scene.
Anyways, the rockin' arthas was good, it was at the right scene and it looked good.
The music's also great, really, I liked it, but I think it's too long and the female voice is much too quiet I think, and I already turned my speakers up.
Now, what I would like better: A Story, Terrain and People.
Maybe you know the Disney Movies, were stories were told like the one with the little wizard and the brooms - there was this story and just music in the background. That was great, I think. I think this would work here too.
I came to think of a man, running through his city at the night, crying. Thinking alone in his chamber, on his bed, thinking about his desperation and himself, maybe thinking about committing suicide. I also thought about a man and his love sitting at a cliff, maybe she leaves and he crys.. maybe he jumps off the cliff. I don't actually know, thats just what I thought of while watching and listening.
Now, that's why I think it's a great Cinematic. But it could be better, I suppose.

PS: Now I feel even more desperate ^^"

I'm really thankful of your all comments. I like to have comments.

FGRaptor: The obelisk thing was made on purpose. It is a bug, maybe graphic bug, but it's funny at least my eyes.

Yes, here is no story, but that's also purpose. I have 2 other cinematic where is a story, terrain and people. This is just a different kind of cinematic.

I agree with you. This could be done better. Do you remember, what part was not so good? I can make it better!

This is for everyone: This is not a normal cinematic, it's something else!

I enjoyed this video for the most part, the song was incredible minus the awful piano playing, I think it would be best to edit some of the Piano out rather then have the song cut out before it's over as I felt the Piano scene was the most longwinded and to be honest I was on the nodd before the piano solo was over.

The scenes could have been synced up a little tighter to the music, some parts felt as if I was listening to music on Windows Media Player using the Visualisation thing it has where it randomly changes at different intervals.

Some of the scenes were out of place and should be removed or shuffled around, like the camera rolling across the hills did not seem to fit in with the other parts at all.

Very creative and looks like it took a lot of work so I tip my hat to ya, well done bud.

Hehh... I have downloaded this cinematic almost a year ago now and I still love it...
I have just received a new PC with less lagg (on the other it lagged at... 25 minutes or something, after the solo)

Don't listen to people who don't like this map... I have tried to make an action cinematic (battle between 2 warlords), when all actions are based on the music, I know it is very hard to create special effects at the rythm of the music :p

I also want to thank you, if you didn't make this map, I wouldn't have known X-Japan, this song is really breath-taking.
Like you already said in the map description: it doesn't matter whether I'm angry, sad, or in a normal mood, this song can really cheer me up and - I don't know if it was on purpose - but the effects look like they're based on the feeling in the song. In the solo you can really feel anger, the colors turn red then and are very wild, at the end you get a tranquillity-effect with the blue mass-effects...

Sorry for the long message, basically it comes to this: Amazing cinematic, amazing music, nice timing...

I want to add a few more things:

- The piano solo is a matter of taste it has nothing to do with the cinematic, but cutting the piano solo would ruin it for other people (like me), because
Review said:
Some emotions can't be described with words, but this piano solo tells them all
The one who is playing the piano is the same person as the one playing the drums (and this is a live version), give him a little credit please :)
The melody of the solo is ment to be like this, a lot of wrong notes, dischords, then a good chord, ... - that's because Yoshiki wants to mean something with this solo...

- The only story in this game, is the story in the song, of course it has no other story! It's ment to be a karaoke-like game, not some battle...

- The voice of the women is silent, yes... but that's just the song, this has nothing to do with the game.

And 1 negative remark: the lyrics don't match the music at the end and I didn't lagg... (at least, I think so)

Keep up the good work anyway, you still deserve the 9/10 I gave you!

Yes, thanks everyone for comments, especially for you, ap0calypse. As we everyone know, this is my second map and the first cinematic I have made. I made this cinematic already two years ago, so if you think I'm still as killed as you see in this cinematic you are wrong.

I tried to create something epic two years ago and I think I somehow achieved it. I won't update the cinematic, and I leave it as it has been last two years. I hope you have enjoyed watching the cinematic, and if want to know what I have been doing last one year I suggest to visit in The Chosen Ones - Index.

I signed up today just to review this...

To be honest, this was the most enjoyable cinematic I've watched so far, and I've downloaded quite a few from this site, including most of the top ones. Even if certain people like CMarket think they are the biggest badass map makers ever and downtalk the simplicity of it, they are mediocre. I enjoyed almost every part of it, minus 1050 -> like 1400 because they murdered the piano.(But to be honest, I understood the role it played, and it wouldn't make sense to cut it out.) Other than that, I thought the effects were great, the intro was fantastic, and the best parts were the thunderstomps and flamestrikes. I really hope you do more videos like this with something like Nightwish or Dream Theater.

edit- btw, if you downtalk this because your computer sucks, then you are an idiot... He clearly says if you don't have a decent computer don't expect it to be as good.

It's been a long time since anything with this changed or anything, or someone posted, but did you use the X japan music, or the music video used online? The X Japan Version seemed to have different timing and slightly less perfect music. It's the real music, the one you have just feels too perfect, and edited. And some parts are different.

Seas =)

Ok finally I download the cinematic to and watched it. I don't know, if I should find it good or mad. I think something between both.

It's not an art to place some effects, change them into other effects, or just create more and more and more effects. Sometimes the effects doesn't match themself ( for example: The "Flamestrike - Effect" while the guitar playing (nearly at the beginning)). But 95% of all effects look cool, specially the "Wisp-Creating" at the beginning - WOW! still love it!

As I read the title "Art of Life", my first thought was, that this is a cinematic about "How was the first life created" or something like that - a cinematic with a story. I was surprised, as I saw it was a music/dance cinematic. Normally if I hear the word "Cinematic" I always think, there's a kind of story but you created something different and again, somehow I don't like it but somehow I like it ....50/50

The Song: Oh yes.... if he starts singing my first reaction was "OMG". But while hearing, I guess after 180 - 200 seconds, I liked it. The song matches the effects and for me it was somehow fine to 80%.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So what we got:
+ Like the "wisp-creating" and the effects with them - wonderful.
+ Like the music after some short time.
+ Without a story you create a good cinematic.
+ Of course a lot of work

* No story but you done a good work without
* The music .... ok I listen to other sorts of music, was different for me.
* Don't like all effects but this was only around 5%

- But still, it's an "mass effect map"
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It's 4/3/1... I think you done your best with it, but (SORRY) I only can give you 4/5. This nothing against you. This nothing against the cinematic at all. But some small changes are needed (for MY opinion) - only some small.

Ok very beatiful but it begins to get boring at ~500. Beside that at 1100 to about 1250 that piano solo... ahh my ears are still hurting.

Well...
I gotta say I`m impressed.
But now I`d like to point out the things I didn`t like.
So for first I think some special effects were too... random? I believe that you spawned them at the wrong place and/or time; example: purge effects combined with some teleport rushed in over a red Arthas playing on the guitar... see what I mean?. One more thing I didn`t like was... well, the music, but anyway that is just personal opinion; if you like the music then it`s ok.
On the other side some effects were very well placed creating amazingly nice abstract visuals, the ending was nice too. (I lagged a little but it wasn`t that bad)
I really appreciate the amount of work this map must`ve taken. Also I`m intrigued by war3 cinematics and I`m pretty sad you protected the map cause I`m curious about some elements.
Overall I don`t see why this is hated that much, in my (newbie) opinion this map deserves a 4/5 :D

It's just epic...
For me it's something about 10/5...
But... On 1250... I used ctrl+alt+delete to shut down Warcraft... I just wasn't able to hear it... But beggining of piano solo is just incredible.

And effects are... Well... Bloodspine told everything I wanted but i have to say it once again. Why have you added teleportation effects in that scene with Arthas? In my opinion something like Vampiric Potion would fit better but its only my opinion.

Overall its still a great movie/music/cinematic/map.
