Anyway to run 3dsmax 5 on Vista?

Well I been trying forever to get my 3dsmax 5 to work on my Vista laptop and its not going well.. I keep getting error 436:4:1 while trying to install. Then when I try running it. It says Cpdilla.dll missing or something and something about an error with license. I tried getting the cpdilla download from the automax site that suppose to fix that, but nothing changed. Is there anyway?

Think about it. When was 3ds max 5 released? Kind of 2002-2003? Thats about 6-7 years ago. Vista is a complete new world. Don't exspect to have it running well without a lot of wordarounds etc. It simple wasn't made for this system. Under XP it works fine.

I think you can get 3DS Max 5 to run on Vista via compatibility mode. To access that feature, right click on the shortcut, click properties, go to the compatibility tab, and there you'll find features like run the application in Windows 98/2000/XP/etc. mode, and disable desktop composition.
