Would anyone happen to know of a tutorial or guide on map optimization.

My map is around 550k and has a pretty long load time of about 30-45 seconds, and takes even longer on my slower computers(I've tested on 4 other PC's), up to 2-3 minutes. I've already removed tons of dodad's and only lost about 15kb to the filesize. And the load time hasn't improved much, if at all.

I noticed how DOTA use to be nearly 3mb(or more?) with up to 5 minutes of load time. Now it's quite a bit less in file size and game loading has improved dramatically.

Would anyone have any tips? Thanks.

Get PitzerMike's Widgetizer, it makes the filesize a bit bigger but reduzes the load time greatly. After that you can then use Vexorian's Map Optimizer to reduce the filesize.

But be carefull, with the wrong settings it can fuck your map up so you probably have to fiddle around with it for awhille.

Both tools can be found on: www.wc3campaigns.net.

Another thing, this is the wrong forum for such a question.
