This is what I have done so far. You should know what it should be, if not, it means that is very crappy

Can somebody give some suggestions to add more detail (it has only about 250 polies :bored:)

Sorry for those colors

Saying "you should know what it is" really doesn't help those who don't.

Like me.

Anyway, give me a few shots with edged faces on.

I didn't realize, because I have no clue what a Templar Archive is...

Exactly my point of not saying "everyone should know."

No, I never got into Starcraft personally.

Im sorry but I really do not know what it is. . .
It looks starcrafty but I can not choose betwene a drone and some protos building (forget name)

Well anyway the gaps inbetween the geosets is a bit wierd, espicaly in the second screenshot.

I also recomend upping the poly count to make the curves look better since even with a high res skin it will still look a bit pointy on the edges.

Next to that, all it needs is a sking to allow us to really comment.

Certianly looks more complex than my modle though. . .

A clay render basicly is a monotone fully skined modle that uses shading to make it look 3D instead of lighting, high res shadows, shadow maps or any other kind of highly advanced rendering techniques, well atleast I think. . .

How it is done? well I do not know.

Where it is needed I suppose.

And all you need to do for that render effect is place a skylight, make sure that light tracer is active, and hit render.

lol well if me and Sven can use the unwrap tool on gmax so can you lol.

As for the model this what I think...First if your trying to mimic a starcraft ship its not looking anything close to one so instead just make up your own name. Obvisly its alien orgin not human since most humans sci-fi often involve there ships with the sharp design of industry why aliens have more of a smooth organic look like what you have. Your best bet is to give it a really high glossy texture such as a shiny metal or a dark metal with maybe energy wires exposed.

(ow and just for people to know there is a render option for gmax but it extremly complex and takes about 6-8 sucessful times to acutly get the rendering down to where you can do it without hassle.)

Ok.
Here we go.

The first thing I will have you do is select an object in your model and merge all the objects into one by selecting the attach option and clicking on each object.
attachment.php

Next, head over to the material editor.
http://forums.hiveworkshop.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2202&d=1170816239

That will open this window.
Make yourself a new material that I kind of grey, make it two sided and apply it to your object.

This step is not that important.
Apply the smooth modifier and select smoothing group 1.
http://forums.hiveworkshop.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2204&d=1170816239

Now select the Create lights tab.
Select skylight and place it in your scene.
http://forums.hiveworkshop.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2205&stc=1&d=1170816239

I like to zoom way out and place the light like this.

Ok, now click on the Rendering tab in the upper menu bar.
http://forums.hiveworkshop.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2207&d=1170816259

It will open something like this. If not make it look like this.
http://forums.hiveworkshop.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2208&d=1170816259

Now click render.

I might go ahead and shrink the images and flesh this out more and tack on the clay render with wireframe.

Helpful, thanks a bunch. That deserves some reputation in my book.
