does anyone know of an easy to use music/sound editor? i need something that can cut excerpts out of music. it would also be pretty handy if i could do some special music effects, too, but it isn't necessary.

An easy to use music/sound editor

Sound isn't like most other things, its not gonna be easy to use
If by "Sound" you mean "mp3", then you should know that mp3s are quite litratly uneditable unlike midi files. You can't just tweek some settings in an mp3 file and get it acting differently
Now that I've probably scared you off, seeing as I don't have any sound editing programs I can't help... Yet
